John Dolan John Dolan's 20-plus years as author of LCGC's popular "LC Troubleshooting" column, co-author of Troubleshooting LC Systems, and 20 years of teaching short courses for LC Resources have earned him a reputation as one of the world's top troubleshooters. John was a member of the team that developed DryLab® software, and his research on gradient elution has helped move this important separation technique from a research tool to routine use. Dr. Dolan's 30 years of experience in HPLC have resulted in 100 scientific papers, more than 225 installments of the monthly "LC Troubleshooting" column, and countless presentations. He has worked in instrument design, software development, professional training, and laboratory management. In 1984, he and Lloyd Snyder started LC Resources. In 2002, LC Resources Laboratory Services group was sold to Bioanalytical Systems (BASi), with John serving as Vice President and General Manager of BASi Northwest Laboratories, a division of BASi that specializes in method development, validation, and application of LC and LC-MS/MS methods for the analysis of pharmaceuticals in biological samples. He is currently Vice President and Director of Training for LC Resources, Inc. John's expertise can be used to help solve separation and instrument problems, train your staff, or as a sounding board for new ideas.

Kari Hallenburg holds the distinction of having the longest tenure (eight years) as editor of LCGC Magazine. She has also served as founding editor of LCGC International and Managing Editor of the Journal of Microcolumn Separations. Kari combines a solid understanding of chromatography, 20 years of professional writing and editing experience, and well-honed skills at page layout, technical writing, graphic design, and web site design to provide world-class support for scientific communications. She has worked in the areas of chromatography, spectroscopy, pharmaceutical technology and business, cosmetic technology, medical training, and health care.

Lloyd Snyder is widely regarded as one of the "founders" of HPLC and is well known for his 40+ years of experience and research in the field of liquid chromatography. He has written more than 200 HPLC-related papers and has taught HPLC courses to more than 10,000 students since 1971. He is coauthor of the three standard HPLC texts: Introduction to Modern Liquid Chromatography, Practical HPLC Method Development, Troubleshooting HPLC Systems. Dr. Snyder's contributions to the development of HPLC have been recognized by a number of international awards, including the ACS awards in chromatography and the Pittsburgh Analytical Chemistry Award. Dr. Snyder is heavily involved in designing strategies for effective HPLC method development as well as in developing training materials and course content to communicate these strategies to the chromatography community.

Tim Wehr has over 40 years' experience in separation technology, with a focus on biochromatography. He has worked on HPLC instrument and column development, and has developed capillary electrophoresis instruments, separation chemistries, and applications. He has over ten years' experience with mass spectrometry and LC-MS, and worked with quadrupole, ion trap, and MALDI TOF-TOF instruments. Dr. Wehr has published over 20 peer-reviewed research papers, four books on separation science, and numerous book chapters. He is coauthor of the popular textbook HPLC and CE of Biomolecules. He was cofounder of the International Symposium on HPLC of Proteins, Peptides and Polynucleotides, and served as editor for the Journal of Chromatography Symposium Series. He served as a columnist for LC-GC magazine, publishing Directions in Drug Discovery. He has extensive teaching experience, having taught chromatography and biochromatography courses for UC Berkeley, Ohlone College, and LC Resources.
