Skold Construction Services, Inc. was founded in 1992 by Steve Skold after purchasing the gypsum underlayment and tectum roof deck business from Gregor Gentleman. With a gypsum underlayment pump, a couple trucks and a few employees, Steve set out to grow Skold Companies into what it is today; four specialize companies spanning throughout the Midwest. The growth started in 1994 with Skold Door Company; focusing on the installation of specialty doors and operable partitions, followed by the formation of Skold Commercial Contracting in 1996; providing structural grouting, and finally, expanding outside of Iowa in 2002 with our first Skold Specialty Contracting office in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After a decade of success with Skold Specialty Contracting in Sioux Falls, Steve expanded Skold Specialty Contracting into Minnesota in 2013, followed by the acquisition of Rapid Acoustical Floors in Rapid City, South Dakota in 2018...
