Southwest Office Systems, Inc., founded in 1964 by Victor Puente, Sr., began as a two-man typewriter repair company. Rapid growth led to sons Buddy and Vince joining their father in 1972. This began career paths that would lead to management and eventually ownership. In 1975, SHARP introduced their first plain paper copier beginning SOS's expanded vision.
