Brian is a Senior Practicing Consultant at Stowell & Co after having served as a Director as well as Chairman for over 25 years. He was articled to Errol Stowell from 1962 -1967 and has been at the firm for over 55 years. He has served on the Board of Trustees of the UKZN Foundation for the past 25 years. He has also served as a past National President of the Associated Chamber of Commerce South Africa and is a past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Comrades Marathon Association. Brian is renowned throughout Pietermaritzburg for his extensive experience in the fields of commercial and competition law
Deborah heads Debt Recoveries Division alongside John Dale. In March 1998 Deborah completed her Articles of Clerkship and was admitted as an Attorney. She joined Stowell and Co. as a Professional Assistant and was appointed as a Director in 2003. Deborah specialises in the Collection of debt for Corporate entities as well as schools and sits as an Executive member of the Pietermaritzburg Legal Circle where she liaises with Magistrate's regularly at management meetings in an endeavour to streamline Court processes and examine current legislation and its applicability.
Over the past 20 years she has been involved in many broader aspects of law pertaining to the recovery of outstanding debt. She prides herself in ensuring that a personal relationship is maintained with her clients in an effort to deliver the best possible service.
Deborah regularly attends various Debt Recovery Conferences in order to be kept updated on the fast-changing laws pertaining to Debt Recovery. She was appointed as the Chairlady of the Board of the St. Johns' Diocesan School of Girls and has a passion for nurturing and empowering young women.
In her spare time Deborah enjoys spending time with the family, reading and swimming.

Garry is a practical and experienced litigator having been in practice for over 30 years. He specialises in High Court Litigation in the areas of Commercial, Banking and Family Law. Garry has Rights of Appearance in the High Court and appears regularly in High Court on behalf of both corporate entities and individual clients.
After completing his articles at Stowell & Co, Garry was admitted as an Attorney and Conveyancer and was appointed as a Director of the Company shortly thereafter.
Garry served on the Executive Committee of the Pietermaritzburg Legal Circle and the committee of the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Commerce. He was an active member of the Association of Round Tables from having served as Club Chairman, National Secretary and as Area Chairman. Garry currently serves as a Member of the Board of Governors of Cordwalles Preparatory School.

Neil graduated from the University of Natal Pietermaritzburg with a BA LLB and was admitted as both an Attorney and Conveyancer in 1985. Prior to commencing his articles at Stowell & Co, he was an Examiner at the Deeds Registry in Pietermaritzburg. He became a partner of Stowell & Co in 1989. Neil was very active in tennis and cricket in Pietermaritzburg and served on the Pietermaritzburg and Natal Cricket Associations during the transformation era and in the 1990's and was also an elected member of the Pietermaritzburg Legal Circle for ten consecutive years.
Nkazimulo is an Associate in the Litigation Department. He completed his articles at Stowell & Co and was admitted as an Attorney in 2020.
Paul graduated from the University of Natal with a BCom LLB. After completing his articles at Stowell & Co he was admitted as both an Attorney and Conveyancer in 1987 and was appointed as a Director of the company soon thereafter. Paul runs a general litigation practice specialising in Commercial and Insolvency litigation.
Paul is an experienced attorney having been in practice for over 30 years. He has Right of Appearance in the High Court and appears as counsel in the High Court on a regular basis.
He has served as a Commissioner of the Small Claims Court for the past 20 years. Paul is a keen canoeist, mountain-biker and runner. He has previously served as Chairman of the Natal Canoe Club and continues to be involved in canoeing administration.

Rodney runs a commercial and local property practice and succeeded Brian Kurz as Chairman until 2020. Rodney has practised as an Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary Public for over 40 years and has been integrally involved in the development and registration of a number of Pietermaritzburg's most prominent Commercial Developments and Sectional Title schemes. He was President of the Pietermaritzburg Legal Circle in 1980, and of the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Commerce in 1984.
He was a Steward at the Pietermaritzburg Turf Club, and the Chairman of the Regional Board of the Jockey Club of South Africa (as it then was). He currently serves as a Director on the National Board of the National Horseracing Authority.
After completing his articles in 1995, Rupert was simultaneously admitted as an Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary Public. He was appointed as a Director of Stowell & Co in 1998 and is the current Chairman. He also heads up the Commercial Division.
Rupert has extensive experience in handling a variety of technical conveyancing and commercial transactions. In addition to specialising in conveyancing and commercial matters, he also focuses on the establishment and administration of Trusts.
In his spare time Rupert enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, and fly fishing and cycling.

Sarah is a Director in the Litigation Department and runs a general litigation practice with a focus on Banking Law and Local and Provincial Government Administration.
Sarah was admitted as an attorney in 2012 after completing her articles at Stowell & Co. and has Right of Appearance in the High Court.
Sarah currently serves as a Provincial council member on the KwaZulu-Natal Legal Practice Council and is a member of the Professional Affairs Committee.
Simon is a Senior Associate in the Debt Recoveries department. He completed his articles at Stowell & Co and has since then built up a practice specialising in rental recoveries, body corporate matters and evictions.
Sumaya is a Senior Associate in the Litigation Department. She completed her articles at Stowell & Co and was admitted as both an Attorney and Conveyancer in 2005.
Sumaya's practice area is mainly High Court Litigation with a special focus on Banking Law. Sumaya has Right of Appearance in the High Court.
Susan is a Director in the Agency Conveyancing Division. She completed her articles at Stowell & Co and was then simultaneously admitted as an Attorney, Notary Public and Conveyancer in 2004. Susan became a Director in July 2006. During her university years, she graduated in the top 20 law students in the country and received Dean's Commendations for all semesters.
She is a vital leader in our Agency Conveyancing Division and specialises in Sectional Title matters. Susan attends at the KwaZulu-Natal Deeds Office personally on a daily basis and has built up strong working relationships with the Deeds Office examiners.
Susan currently serves as an Independent Director of the KZN Inland Cricket Union.
Toni completed her articles at Leppan Attorneys and was admitted as an Attorney in 2020. Toni joined Stowell & Co in January 2021 and is our in-house cost consultant. She also assists in the litigation department.
Tracy has over 25 years of experience in insolvencies and deceased estates having started her career at the Master of the High Court as Senior Examiner and an acting Assistant Master before joining Stowell & Co 1998. Her in depth knowledge and understanding of the Masters Office proves valuable on a daily basis. Tracy is a member of the South African Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners Association.
Vuyo completed her articles at Stowell & Co and was admitted as an Attorney, Notary Public and Conveyancer in 2021. She is currently a Senior Associate in the Conveyancing department and works alongside MacDonald Chitja.

Zahra completed her articles at Daly Morris Fuller Inc and was admitted as an Attorney and Notary Public in 2018 and then as a Conveyancer in February 2020. Zahra went onto work at Hassan Abbas & Co before moving to Pietermaritzburg and joining Stowell & Co in 2021.
Zahra is an Associate in the Agency Conveyancing department where she assists Susan and Adrian.
Zia is a Director in the property law department. She completed her articles at Stowell & Co and was admitted simultaneously as an Attorney and Conveyancer in 2018.
