ST. REGIS HOTEL

The St. Regis Hotel was established on March 15, 1913 and completed its most recent renovation in December 2008, rebranding as a New York Style heritage boutique hotel. The renovations brought the hotel to the highest level of modern comfort and finish, and each room is stripped and refurbished every winter to ensure that every guestroom is always in perfect condition... Opened on March 15, 1913, the St. Regis was designed by Canadian WT Whiteway, a leading architect also responsible for the Sun Tower at Pender and Beatty. Envisioned as a one stop destination for lodging, dining and entertainment, the swank property was well- positioned near the new Hudson's Bay flagship as a top retreat for travellers to the young coastal metropolis. The hotel was an immediate hit and business thrived as the young city grew, until the Great Depression brought significant downturn in the local and international economies... As part of the complete $11-million renovation, original works were installed..
