Amy is born and raised here in Waterbury, VT and has been involved in the community for years volunteering with American Legion Post 59, Neighbor to Neighbor program and serves on the Waterbury Area Senior Center board of directors. Amy has a passion for serving the elderly. Amy has 3 children whom are successful and who are also people who give back to others which makes her very proud. She joins SunCommon after working at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters for 14 years. She brings her energy and charisma to us with open arms. As a sun worshiper she found the right place to share the love and begin a new chapter of her career at SunCommon.
Annika grew up in rural Schoharie County, NY. When growing up, if there was a light left on in a room, she was sent back to kick "Ernie the energy waster" out of there; electricity usage has always been in her consciousness. After spending years working on educational sailing vessels, she decided to move to land in 2019. Looking to learn more about renewable energy, while still working with her hands, she was very excited to find SunCommon, and have the opportunity to come back to the Hudson Valley. When not working, Annika enjoys growing, cooking, and eating good food, and building things.

Brian was born and raised in Middlebury and graduated from The College of Wooster with a degree in Sociology. After moving back to Vermont, he developed a passion for political and community organizing, beginning with the Vermont Democratic Party in 2014 and continuing in earnest on Bernie Sanders' 2016 presidential campaign.
Inspired by that experience, Brian returned home to Vermont to help direct the field operation of the Vermont Democratic Party's 2016 Coordinated Campaign. Most recently, he was part of the organizing team for Let's Grow Kids, advocating for high-quality, affordable child care in Vermont. He has also worked for the Vermont Speaker of the House's office and for the Vermont State Employees Union.
Brian's enthusiasm for the environment and for his local community bring him to SunCommon, and he is excited to help bring affordable solar energy to more Vermonters. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing and hiking in Vermont's beautiful outdoors and fantasizes about adopting many, many dogs.

Carrie was born and raised in Southern California and managed to escape after finishing up her undergrad at UCLA. She did a stint in San Francisco before moving east to open Muddy Waters, an iconic Burlington coffeehouse. In 2009 she bought the Old Brick Store in Charlotte, using a Community Supported Enterprise model to revitalize the 1852 country store and create "convenience with a conscience."
Carrie brings a love of the natural environment to her work with SunCommon. When not advocating for solar, she should be finishing her thesis for a Master's in Sustainable Development from the School for International Training but instead can be found hiking in the ADK high peaks, surfing in Costa Rica, or tooling around France in search of great food.
Chris grew up in the Green Mountain state enjoying all it has to offer and developed a love for the outdoors and the great seasonal activities that go with it. He earned a BA from UVM in Biology and joined the Coast Guard to get a taste for life on the open sea. He worked as an electrician and diver while making a few trips to the wilds of Antarctica. Chris found his way back to Vermont and nurtured his growing interest in renewable energy, earning an electrical engineering degree from Vermont Technical College, and now finding himself happily designing solar systems with SunCommon for the people of Vermont. He lives in Montpelier with his wife Joey, daughter Lila, and dog Yukon. Read more about Chris on our Blog!

My name is Craig Hightower. I am the Senior Commercial Solar Project Consultant in our Kingston office. I am originally from the Central Valley of California where you could usually find me up in the Sequoias camping, fishing, or hiking. I began my work in renewable energy in 2010. At that time, I began to become more aware of the state of our environment and the damage our societies were causing. I was also very fascinated by solar technology! I quickly decided that I wanted my career to have meaning beyond "just a job". I wanted my work to be part of the solution to leave a cleaner planet to the generations that follow. In 2014, my Solar career had taken me to the Twin Cities of Minnesota where I helped launched the first Community Solar program in the State. I was then relocated to the Hudson Valley of New York to be a part of the Community Solar launch in that market.

Doug grew up in Montpelier, VT but went to college in Worcester, MA and lived in the Bay Area, CA for a few years after college. He moved back to VT with his wife to settle down and was brought to SunCommon by some friends who worked for the company. The organization and position aligned with his values and past job experience as a Project Manager at an academic journal. In Doug's free time he enjoys hikes, playing golf (both the disc and ball variety), playing music (drums), cooking, and gardening.
Drew grew up in Red Hook, NY, and received his undergraduate degree from SUNY New Paltz in Communications and Environmental Studies in 2018. Drew is currently receiving his Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Sustainability part-time at Bard College. At SunCommon, Drew works with homeowners and business owners in planning solar installations. He sees incredible value in renewable energy, and is proud to work for a local Benefit Corporation that treats the world, its customers and its employees with compassion and respect.
Drew now lives in Cold Spring, NY with his partner and his dog, Miles. He enjoys going to the local dog park, playing games, hiking, and spending time with family during his free hours.

Duncan is originally from Great Britain. He enjoys snowboarding and tea. Prior to SunCommon, he did residential and commercial electrical work. Duncan finds solar energy meaningful and enjoys working with his hands.

Eli grew up in a small town with a lot of cows and not much to do except enjoy being outside. He went to school for physics and instead majored in English - sometimes (usually at 3'o'clock in the morning) he feels like this was a big fail, but it turns out he likes writing a whole bunch. Eli also likes hiking, cooking, reading, playing music, playing soccer, watching soccer, giving his dog kisses, and gradually renovating his very old house in central Vermont. Special talents include deconstructing gender norms, walking on stilts, and cutting his own hair.

Emily grew up in Massachusetts playing outside in the backwoods. After completing college and a year term with AmeriCorps, she moved to Vermont to play outside some more! Emily's passion for the environment drove her to SunCommon where she is excited to help others find a path to a clean energy future! Emily loves dogs and is so excited to be surrounded by new furry office friends! When not at work Emily likes to hike, ski, run and eat cheese with friends.
Before Suncommon, Eric worked for four different solar install companies, the first one going back to 2008. Out of high school he was interested in environmental science but ended up pursuing work in renewable energy because he finds the various technologies exciting. Outside of work Eric enjoys hiking, biking, playing basketball and spending time with his wife and two youngsters.

Born and raised in Barre, Gary is happy to be working in Vermont at a job where he is making a difference every day. Gary enjoys the outdoors and his favorite activities include flying, camping, bicycling, boating and enjoying the ocean a couple of times a year.

Heath installed his first solar panel on a roof in Boone, NC in 1998. Since then, he has dedicated his career to the industry, leading operational teams in the residential, commercial and O&M sectors. Heath oversees SunCommon's commercial program providing a foundation for safety, quality workmanship, and growth.
Prior to joining SunCommon in 2021, Heath led residential operations for Sungevity for over nine years, growing the company from a five-person start up to over 1000 employees and 50 mW of annual residential installations. Most recently, Heath led the Commercial Carport team at SunPower where he helped to drive design, procurement and installation throughout North America. Perhaps the most notable solar installation of Heath's career was on the state house roof for President Mohamed Nasheed, the first democratically elected leader of the Maldives.
Heath and his wife, Adele, live on an upstart farm in Waitsfield where they are actively developing a diversified and regenerative approach to food and fiber production. Heath is a longtime outdoor enthusiast and can be found running trail on any given morning.
Heather went to The University of Vermont for Sustainability Studies and ended up leading a career in hospitality and event management/sales. Going back to her roots and values, she is now a Solar Home Advisor helping people decide how best to integrate solar into their homes and daily lives. Heather is passionate about climate action and is thrilled to be taking part in helping her community move towards a cleaner energy future, as well as educating people about solar specifically. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, playing with her dog named Goose, painting, and spending time with her family in NH.
