David Peña

David Peña is a consultant and facilitator at SVS Consulting Services. David has a passion for helping individuals and organizations to identify, leverage and align their strengths. He is a mentor and advisor; promoting leadership best practices, associate engagement and work/life balance in order to increase business results and happiness. David earned his M.A. in Leadership from Saint Mary's College. He is also a graduate of the UCLA Management Development for Entrepreneurs Program at The Anderson School of Business. David graduated from California State University, Hayward with a B.S. Business Administration, Marketing emphasis. David is a successful entrepreneur as owner of an insurance agency for over twenty-seven years. Prior to owning his insurance agency, David held various positions in the grocery business for over fifteen years, from store manager to buyer, successfully managing employees in independently owned grocery stores and large chain stores. David has co-founded large networks including the State Farm National Hispanic Agent's Network and the State Farm Agent's Political Action Network. He was the first State Farm agent in the history of the organization to serve as a member of State Farm California's Diversity and Inclusion Council, serving for over six years. David has served on the board of directors for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves as an advisor to the Latino Institute for Corporate Inclusion's research group. David has served as the chair of the award winning mentoring program, "The Puente Project" at Chabot Community College in Hayward for the past twenty years, helping refine and improve the mentoring program, mentoring individual students, and training mentors to deliver quality guidance to mentees and lead by example to help these students stay on track to transfer to four year colleges and universities.

Doug Paxton

Doug Paxton is a consultant and facilitator at SVS Consulting Services. With a long-time interest in how human beings grow, learn and change, Doug is a learner, educator, writer, and artist who is passionate about what humanity has to learn from reconnecting to our values and the natural world. Doug attended Yale University's School of Organization and Management for his MBA, and completed his Ph.D. at the California Institute of Integral Studies. His dissertation was entitled, Facilitating Transformation of White Consciousness Among European-American People: A Case Study of Cooperative Inquiry. Doug is currently exploring the questions: Who are we? What is our purpose? How do we heal our personal and collective wounds? Who do we need to be in the future? Who do our organizations and communities need us to be? How do we get there? Doug is the Co-Director for the Leadership Center at Saint Mary's College of California and currently focuses his teaching in the area of Values, Leadership and Sustainable Organizational Change. He brings to his teaching and facilitation over 25 years of leadership experience in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. Doug served as the Director of People and Organizational Development at Business for Social Responsibility, Executive Director of Indochinese Housing Development Corporation, Board Chair at GroundSpark and as the founding Program Director of the Presidio World College MBA in Sustainable Management. He is an accredited values executive coach who has worked with hundreds of professionals across many fields. Doug is also a vision quest guide for Rites of Passage, a non-profit organization which does human development work in the natural world.

Janna Munk

Janna possesses twenty years of law enforcement experience, which has given her the opportunity to assume challenging leadership roles under a wide variety of diverse circumstances. Her experiences have included holding assignments as a patrol officer and sergeant, helicopter pilot, gang crime investigator and supervising a large unit of civilians and officers through challenging economic times. One of Janna's passions is teaching, and she is currently a certified police academy instructor for Emergency Vehicle Operations, Search and Seizure, Laws of Arrest, Law Enforcement Driving Simulators and Defensive Tactics. Janna has actively pursued bridging the gap between the police department and the larger city government by becoming and staying involved in citywide Human Resource development. Janna participates as a mentor in the city's official mentoring program and has taught a Personal Leadership class for the last five years for the city's Supervisory Leadership Academy. Janna has also provided 360 degree coaching for city supervisors as requested. Creating an environment where employees and their organization simultaneously thrive and grow is Janna's primary goal. She is passionate about the learning process and human development, using coaching, mentoring and training to provide people with the tools they need to fulfill their potential both organizationally and personally. Additionally, Janna holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Master of Arts degree in Leadership.

Martin Hall

Martin Hall serves as an Associate Consultant with SVS Consulting Services of Napa, California. He is an experienced international consultant and coach in leadership development and organizational culture change and has twenty years of experience as a practitioner, theorist, and author. Martin specializes in systems, values, and organizational leadership development. His consulting and coaching experience includes everything from small businesses to Global 2000 organizations and covers a broad range of industries including non-profit, education, healthcare, technology, shipping, and financial services. Martin has a passion for leadership development, organizational culture change and community service. He served as an agent for change while working as a principal at Values Technology. During his tenure with Values Technology, Martin worked on the Hall-Tonna Framework of Values, the Values Measurement Instrument, and designed and developed the online values-based measurement tools. He also designed and developed a values-based document analysis, which highlights how well an organization is communicating its values. Martin additionally was the architect of a large-scale intervention related to organizational culture change. This methodology has been successfully applied within Global 2000 organizations. He brings this vast experience to our team. He and Suzanne Van Stralen recently created The Stages of Leadership Framework, a process that enables individuals and teams to adapt to unpredictable environments and seize opportunities to innovate. The framework depicts five developmental stages of leadership growth. Each stage represents a leadership mindset or worldview. Our mindsets influence how we view the world, make decisions and take actions. A mindset can open or close possibilities. Martin also created a Beliefs Framework, which helps individuals, teams, and organizations navigate their leadership development. The Beliefs Framework offers specific beliefs, skills and behaviors related to The Stages of Leadership Framework. Participants identify where they are on the 5 Stages of Leadership framework, where they want to be on the framework, and how they will employ specific beliefs and tangible skills and behaviors to support their growth. Martin holds a PH.D. in Management Systems and Science from the University of Lincoln. His doctoral research focused on Systems Thinking and Human Values. He additionally earned a Master of Science in Cybernetic Systems from San Jose State University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Santa Clara University. He lives in Napa, California with his wife, three children, and dogs and cats.
