Dr. Robert J. Matthews

Dr. Matthews graduated from Southern Illinois University - School of Dental Medicine in 2000. He then served as a general dentist in the United States Navy for 4 years, where he completed additional general dentistry training with an Advanced Education in General Dentistry certificate. During his time in the Navy, he was privileged to serve in Kuwait during the 2003 Iraqi War where he assisted in keeping the fighting troops healthy. In 2004 he was released from the Navy and began his general dental practice here in Surprise. For the last 14 years he has continued to develop his practice by meeting the everchanging needs of his patients. He is certified in Lumineers and Clear Correct and Cerec. And is continually improving his ability to treat his patients through multiple study groups and SPEAR Education. When Dr. Matthews is not working, he spends most of his time doing activities with his wife and 5 children. He enjoys boating and hiking and working around the house. Dr. Matthews started practicing dentistry in Surprise in 2004 after he had finished a four year commitment as a dentist in the U.S. Navy. He assumed the office from Dr. Vahid Hojreh who had started the office in 1998. Dr. Matthews has a commitment of bringing modern dentistry to his patients while helping patients feel comfortable and at home. Since 2004 Dr. Matthews has continued to stay current with the advancements that are constantly improving the field of dentistry. Here are some of the technology and advancements he has introduced into the office: Digital x-rays, Paperless office, Implants, Lumineers, and Cerec Same Day Crowns.
