While gas compressor packaging standards were being updated for these new high-speed compressor frames, compressor skids were still being designed and built with light steel beams for both main skid beams and driver/compressor pedestals. Tech Transfer soon recognized that the higher mechanical and gas forces of these new compressor frames, and the current practice of light steel skid construction, was the root cause of the higher vibration levels recorded in the field. Tech Transfer was the pioneer in recommending heavier skid steel as well as recommending filling the skid areas under the compressor and driver with rebar-reinforced concrete. This was the first significant step in compressor skid design that substantially reduced overall package vibration levels. Tech Transfer remains an industry leader in reciprocating compressor skid and foundation designs... Tech Transfer Inc. was established by Geoff Anderson in 1985 at a point in the gas compression industry when high-speed..
