Members of TFS are trained to very high levels of competence to ensure we know what to do in an emergency. We have a wide range of experience and skills in our ranks... By reducing the likelihood and consequence of fires occurring, our people play an important part in making Tasmania a safer place to live... Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) is the operational arm of the State Fire Commission, established in 1979. We're made up of more than 200 fire brigades across Tasmania, 350 career firefighters and 5000 volunteers.
