Bipin Junnarkar

Bipin Junnarkar is internationally known in the field of Knowledge Management. Bipin brings domain expertise in Information Technology, Business Process Management and Knowledge Management. Bipin has developed an innovative approach of bringing together management sciences, information sciences and social sciences to create business value. Having served in senior management positions in FORTUNE 100 companies, Bipin is retained by Board of directors and senior executives as an executive consultant. He served as consulting Chief Information Officer for DirecTV Latin America. Bipin joined Hewlett Packard as Vice President, Business Process Transformation to lead the strategic initiative sponsored by the Chief Executive Officer. Subsequently, he held responsibilities for Data & Knowledge Management at HP. Prior to joining HP, Bipin served as Chief Knowledge Officer and Vice President, Information Technology at Gateway Inc. Bipin had a long and rewarding career at Monsanto Company where he led corporate strategic initiative in Knowledge Management. Computerworld & Smithsonian Institute recognized work done Bipin's team in 1996. His team's work can be found in the Smithsonian archives. Bipin left Monsanto in 1999 as Senior Director, Knowledge Management and Information Technology to join Gateway. Notably, Monsanto, Gateway and Hewlett Packard were all awarded Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) award under Bipin's stewardship at these companies. Bipin Junnarkar is well-known for his thought provoking speeches. Bipin has spoken extensively on Knowledge Management at various conferences in Europe and the US. U.S. army featured Bipin Junnarkar as keynote speaker at their internal symposium on Decision Dominance in 2003. Shell International's internationally reputed Scenario Planning group invited Bipin to speak at their London office. Additionally, Bipin has spoken at M.I.T., Harvard University, Carnegie Mellon University's distinguished speaker series, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and many other universities around the world. Bipin Junnarkar served on the editorial boards of Knowledge Management Review and Journal of knowledge Management. He has contributed articles to books on Knowledge Management and has been featured in many industry magazines. Fortune magazine has published two articles on Bipin's work. Bipin served on World Bank's advisory panel on Knowledge Management. Since 2006 Bipin has devoted himself to the field of education. He has been involved with students and their families starting when the students enter high school and carrying through their college and professional years. Bipin and his other associates have developed an online platform based on education analytics. The goal is to help students advance personally and professionally and rise to their highest potential. Graduate of Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, Bipin started his career at NOCIL (a unit of Royal/Dutch Shell Group), Mumbai in 1979. In 1981 Bipin commenced graduate studies in mechanical engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, USA. Upon graduation Bipin joined Schlumberger in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bipin Junnarkar lives in a suburb of San Diego, USA and travels extensively around the world consulting with senior management of companies on business and information technology strategy.

Dr. Shyam Nair

Dr. Shyam Nair has been providing consulting services for over 25 years on a wide variety of engineering, scientific, and management disciplines. He brings domain expertise in environmental site characterization, assessments and feasibility studies; modeling contaminant fate and transport in air, groundwater, and surface water; estimating human exposures to pollutants; evaluating risks of contacting diseases and mortality from exposure to contaminants; estimating risks to ecological species such as plants and fish as a result of exposure to harmful chemicals and human activities; database management; and decision support software development. He has developed, tested, and applied several mathematical models based on finite element, finite difference, Monte Carlo, and Markov Chain methods that span multiple areas of expertise including hydrology and hydrogeology, atmospheric science, transport phenomena, atmospheric chemistry, radiation health physics, thermodynamics, and probability theory. Currently, Shyam holds the positions of International Business Development Manager and Manager of Environmental Assessments with E2 Consulting Engineers. Within the U.S., he is pursuing government-sector work with various agencies such as Department of Energy, Army Corps of Engineers, and EPA and private sector work with multiple companies such as Energy Solutions and Syngenta. As Business Development Manager, he has been pursuing new markets through leveraging of expertise of various E2 offices in the U.S. and forming strategic teaming arrangements with other companies. He is responsible for various aspects of proposal development including teaming strategies, planning and preparing technical and cost proposals, and final submittals. He has pursued opportunities to place U.S. Engineers and scientists at Sellafield Nuclear Operations in the UK and in the solar energy and waste-to-energy sectors in India. On the assessment side, Shyam is currently bringing to a successful closure one of a kind ten-year Adaptive Management exercise for the Channel Dredging Project on the Lower Columbia River for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District. For Syngenta, he has been performing assessment of the impacts of atrazine, an herbicide used extensively on sorghum and corn crops in the U.S., on second-order aquatic streams in the mid-western U.S. Shyam was instrumental in providing technical leadership to assess the risk of excess lifetime cancer to the thyroid gland of children exposed to the releases of iodine-131 to the atmosphere in the early Manhattan Project days in 1940's from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He developed a unique speciation-based Gaussian plume model that incorporated uncertainties through Markov-Chain Monte Carlo process for the estimation of the lifetime excess risks and attendant uncertainties for the effort. He has been involved in several projects involving groundwater modeling, ecological risk assessment, radiological dose assessment, and uncertainty analyses throughout his career. He has an MBA from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, PhD and MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kentucky at Lexington, and B. Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. Dr. Nair lives in Knoxville and travels all over U.S. and abroad to extend his consulting services in the environmental and sustainable energy sectors.
