Carmella Teolis

Carmella Teolis is the daughter of Samuel A. and Michele Teolis, granddaughter of the late Samuel and Anita Teolis and Don and Toni Rutter. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 2014, after which she attended the Butler County Community College for one year. After BC3, Carmella graduated from the Pittsburgh Technical College with high honors earning a degree in Applied Sciences and Office Administration along with becoming a certified Professional Medical Coder. On January 9, 2015, Carmella received her Certified Crematory Operator Certification. In September of 2017, Carmella enrolled into the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, which she graduated from on September 7, 2018 with status of "Magna Cum Laude". Carmella received the Champion Chemical Company Award for Excellence in Science Academics and earned her certification as a Life Celebrant. She now serves as Funeral Director alongside her father at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.

Darryl E. Ruby Sr.

Mr. Ruby was born in New Brighton on May 6th, 1939 to the late Norman and Cleora (Funkhouser) Ruby. Darryl graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1957. On December 10th, 1962 Darryl enlisted with the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge on June 17th, 1963 earning the rank of Private E2. He had worked as a retail bread salesman for Liberty Bakery, the Babcock & Wilcox steel mill in Beaver Falls for 14 years as a tool and die maker, Gada Machine in Edgebrook, and lastly at Double R Plastics in New Castle. Darryl is a 32 Degree Mason and served as Master of the Meridian Lodge #411 in Enon Valley in 2001 and 2002. He is also a member of the Syria Shriners in Cheswick, Eastern Star, American Legion Post 749 in Wampum where he had served as Commander, Lawrence County American Legion also as Commander, Chef de Gar 40/8 of Lawrence County, Endowment Member of the NRA, Scottish Rite Cathedral in New Castle, charter member of the Veterans Honor Guard, honorary life member of the Koppel Big Beaver Sportsman's Club, and enjoyed racing motorcycles in the 1960's and 1970's. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Jean (Stevenson) Ruby whom he married on December 31st, 1964, daughter Dawn (John) Lonzenski of Raleigh, North Carolina, son Darryl Ruby Jr. (Deirdre Mitchell) of Monaca, and his sisters Laraine (Richard) Pistorius and Darla Hedges both of Koppel.

Mr. Norman L. Giancola

Norman was born on October 28, 1928, in Ellwood City, to the late Clemente and Anna D.(Perrotta) Giancola. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1946 and from Geneva College with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Norman is a veteran of the United States Air Force with the rank of Sergeant. He then joined the United States Air Force Reserves, where he retired as a Major from the 9-11th airlift wing, at the Pittsburgh air reserves station. Norman was employed by the Federal Home Loan Bank Board in Pittsburgh as a savings and loan examiner from 1954 until 1974, when he was promoted to District Director until his retirement in 1986. After retirement, Norman worked for Ellwood Savings Bank in Ellwood City as an internal audit vice president. Norman served as a North Sewickley Township Supervisor for 18 years. He was a member of Divine Grace Parish/Holy Redeemer Church and belonged to its Holy Name Society and Special Activities Group and served on the Holy Redeemer Finance Committee. He also belonged to the Ellwood City Wolves Club and Ellwood City Lions Club. Norman enjoyed photography, gardening, model airplanes and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Mrs. Rose Marie (Wilson) Giancola, whom he married on October 2, 1948; daughters, Agnes Campanale of Youngstown, Deborah Giancola of Ross Township, Darlene (Don) Kotuby of New Wilmington, Patrice Giancola of Ross Township and Anita (Dean) Lutz of Neshannock Township; a son, Norman L. (Sonya) Giancola Jr., of Watkinsville, GA; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Melissa Giancola; a granddaughter, Kimberly Kotuby; and brothers, Clem, Cosmo and Peter Giancola.

Mrs. Kathryn Jeanne Manzo

Kathryn was born on December 9th, 1948, in Beaver, to the late Michael and Elsie (McConnell) Landman. She was a graduate of Riverside High School. Kathryn worked as a cook at Cully's Restaurant in Ellport, Fray's Restaurant, and the Ellwood Hot Dog Shop, which later became, Breakfast and Burgers, all on Lawrence Avenue. Kathryn enjoyed reading, gardening, candy-making, and most of all, spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Nicholas Manzo of Ellwood City, whom she married on October 14th, 1979, daughter, Teresa (Edward) Enos of Ellwood City, sons, Steven (Summer) Landman of West Middle Sex, and Bryan (Lori) Landman of Patterson Township, grandchildren, Chelsie (Andrew) Seminara, Steven (Alisha) Landman, Samantha (Jacob) Faller, Laina (Jake) Fagnano, Savannah Enos, and Jessica Enos, great-grandchildren, Nolan Faller, Cora, Rocco, and Vitto Fagnano, and Vinnie, Rosie, and Dominic Seminara, brother, Richard (Carolyn) Landman, brothers-in-law, Reames Wooten and Dillip Persaud. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Carolyn Wooten and Jacqueline Persaud, and brothers, Robert and Ronald Landman.

Ms. Helen G. Mantz

Helen was born on November 11th, 1925 in Ellwood City to the late James and Mary (Minnocci) Mantz. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1941. Helen belonged to Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church, and was also a Christian Mother. She starting working for Shapiro's Dress Shop in 1942, and eventually bought the business upon the previous owner's retirement. Once hers, she renamed the business "Helen's Dress Shop, Bridal and Formal" and remained in business until her retirement, at 88 years old. Helen was an avid Notre Dame and football fan. She was a hard worker, who took pride in everything she did. Helen is survived by her sister, Joan Clark, of TN, beloved dog, Peyton, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, James A. "Jimmy" Mantz, brother and sister-in-law, Carl "Rizzo" and Geri Mantz, sister and brother-in-law, Terri and Tim O'Brien, and brother-in-law, Chuck Clark.

Ms. Pamela Creese

Pam was born in Ellwood City on June 20th, 1961 to the late George H. and Dorothy M. (Hawke) Creese Jr.. She is a member of the Riverside High School class of 1979. For 25 years Pam worked at BNZ Materials Inc. in Zelienople as a fork lift operator. She enjoyed reading, traveling, camping, biking, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her significant other of 45 years Jim Funkhouser, daughter Diane Creese (John Kremer) of Koppel, son James Creese of Ellwood City, grandchildren Alexea Simmons, Gabrianna Simmons, Ryan Bartolomeo, Austin Kremer, Haley Kremer, Madison Kremer, and Dominic Creese, sisters Patty Nye of Ellwood City and Dorothy Broge of Jamestown, and brothers Ed Creese of Ellwood City and Rick Creese of North Sewickley Township. Pam was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Debra Jean Creese.

Paul E. Bubb

Paul was born in Ellwood City on April 21st, 1975 to Paul E. Bubb, Sr. of Utica and the late Deborah A. (Tindall) Bubb. He is a member of the Laurel High School class of 1994. Following graduation Paul was hired by W.W. Williams Diesel Mechanic Shop where most recently he was working as a shop supervisor. An outdoorsman, Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATV riding, and playing pool. He also is a member of the Polish White Eagles in Chewton and the MOOSE Lodge #93 in Ellwood City. He is survived by his father Paul, fiancé Heather Morgan of Ellwood City, daughter Hannah Bubb, sister Rebecca Bubb of Scott Twp., brother Clint Bubb of Utica, 2 nieces Stacy and Miah, 2 nephews Steven and Christopher, 3 great-nieces, and 1 great-nephew.

Samuel A. Teolis - Founder

In 1991 Mr. Teolis was joined in business by his son, Samuel A. Teolis, born in May 1968, a graduate of Lincoln High School 1986, the University of Pittsburgh in 1990, and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1991. Samuel A. Teolis also has held a position as Lawrence County Dep. Coroner since 1992. Samuel A. Teolis, Supervisor | Carmella M. Teolis, Funeral Director Samuel Teolis was born September 25, 1925 in Princeton, Pa. A World War II veteran, Samuel Teolis graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1950. He worked for various funeral homes until 1955 when he decided to start his own business. The first family served by Mr. Teolis was in December of 1955. Mr. Teolis, also had worked for many years as a barber in the Ellwood city area. Samuel Teolis served as the supervisor of the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. until his passing in 2021. His son Samuel A. Teolis now serves as the supervisor, and his granddaughter Carmella Teolis now serves as the Funeral Director. Both are committed to serving the community of Ellwood City and the surrounding areas with the utmost dignity and respect. Also, both are very community oriented by actively belonging to several civic organizations. Samuel A. Teolis is also a Notary Publics to help better serve our clients in their time of need.
