Ali Chehrehsaz - CEO

Ali Chehrehsaz is a founding partner at TerraVerde Energy and serves as the Chief Executive Officer. Over his years at TerraVerde, Ali has spent much of his time leading the development of TerraVerde's approach to project analysis, engineering, development, and implementation. Prior to joining TerraVerde, Ali managed development and implementation of utility scale solar projects, as well as working as a project engineer in the oil sands upgrading industry.

Daniel Postoian

Job Titles:

As Director of Projects, Mr. Postoian is responsible for development, RFP administration, technical due diligence and contract negotiation for solar PV and advanced energy storage projects on behalf of public agencies. He brings thirteen years of wide-ranging renewable energy experience to this role, most recently as the Engineering Manager of Baker Electric's Commercial Renewables group in Escondido, California. During his six years with Baker Electric, he had primary accountability for permitting and construction packages for 146 projects totaling 32MWDC. Prior to his role at Baker Electric, he worked in Honolulu, Hawaii for two years as Project Manager and Engineer at Photonworks Engineering, responsible for engineering and construction management of commercial, military, and municipal PV projects on the island. He has also worked for Integrated Power Corporation, Akeena Solar and Xilinx, and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

David Burdick - EVP

David serves as President of Asset Management for TerraVerde Energy, managing both the Asset Management and Fleet Electrification businesses in supporting clients with optimizing the value of their solar PV and battery energy storage systems, and electrifying their vehicle fleets. Prior to joining TerraVerde, David served as a General Manager for a solar & battery EPC firm.

Hedy Dalvand

Dr. Dalvand leads the AMS Operations team in mission of maximizing the financial performance of TerraVerde's portfolio of solar PV & battery energy storage systems. As Director of Operations, he develops and implements operating models as well as manages and enhances maintenance programs & strategies for the portfolio. With more than eighteen years of experience in the energy industry, Dr. Dalvand has detailed expertise in asset management & planning, DER grid interconnection, grid modeling & analysis, strategy development & engagement. Holding an Advanced Diploma in Management & Leadership in addition to a PhD degree in electrical engineering, he has led several strategic initiatives in solar, energy storage & EV charging systems to support clients meeting their energy targets with emerging technologies.

Jen Petherick

Ms. Petherick leads the development and execution of TerraVerde's Solar and Advanced Energy Storage projects. Previously Ms. Petherick worked at GCL Solar Energy managing the implementation of utility scale solar and battery projects. Prior to her position at GCL Solar Energy, Ms. Petherick worked at a number of solar power companies developing and managing commercial and utility-scale solar projects including Pacific Utility, Belectric, Opti-Solar and Solar Integrated. She has a B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc.in Electrical Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer.

JP Bourquin

As an Asset Management Engineer, JP Bourquin monitors and manages the performance of a portion of the portfolio solar PV and battery energy storage systems that we oversee on behalf of our clients.

Kevin Ross

Job Titles:

For the past 6 years Kevin has managed business development for TerraVerde, focusing on water agencies, school districts, public utilities, and municipalities. Located in Southern California, Kevin directs client relationship management, including development of new project opportunities, existing client account management, new project feasibility assessments, client and partner communications, and project implementation planning. Kevin has led the implementation of complex solar PV projects involving export tariff structures such as RES-BCT and has led investment grade evaluations of battery energy storage and microgrid systems. He is a long-standing affiliate member of the Association of California Water Agencies ("ACWA"), providing thought leadership and guidance on a variety of renewable energy technology, and regulatory subjects.

Matt Zerega

As Director of Fleet Consulting, Matt Zerega provides technical leadership on vehicle fleet related consulting engagements, assisting fleet owners and operators to establish and implement intelligent, risk-mitigated approaches to transitioning to zero emission vehicles. Matt has over 20 years of energy industry experience with 13 years focused on zero-emission vehicle fleet transitions. Among his varied experiences, Matt spent 2 years as Clean Transportation lead for San Diego Gas & Electric, 3 years as Technical Lead for Shell's E-Mobility Group, and 8 years at Sempra including serving as a Manager of Economic Analysis & Policy. Matt is a graduate from Cal State Chico and holds an MBA.

Miya Turner

As a Sr. Project Manager on our Asset Management team, Miya Turner manages performance reporting, renewable energy certificates, customer onboarding, and our system maintenance programs.

Phil Villagomez

As Vice President of Asset Management, Phil oversees TerraVerde's asset management services team and manages business development for this segment of the organization. With over twenty-five years of energy industry experience in natural gas and power origination, energy training, electric mobility and utility scale solar operations management, Phil has worked extensively with commercial and industrial customers, state and federal government agencies and international organizations. A native of Houston, Texas, Phil is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and has lived and worked in Louisiana, California and Oregon. Phil attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a B.A degree in Economics and served on the board of the Hispanic Business Student Association. Phil also earned an M.B.A from The University of Saint Thomas in Houston where he focused on Marketing and International Business with course work in Santiago, Chile. Married and currently living in the Bay Area, Phil stays active as a member of the Richmond California Tennis Association.

Rick Brown - Chairman

Dr. Brown founded TerraVerde in 2009 and served as CEO through December 2019. He has been deeply involved in California legislation regarding clean energy and numerous regulatory proceedings impacting the growth of solar, storage and other distributed energy resources. He also led the effort to have TerraVerde and Community Choice Agency partners, selected by the National Renewable Energy lab to participate in the first round of the Solar Energy Innovation Network, and by the California Energy Commission to participate in in the Local Government Innovation Challenge. Since retiring as CEO, Dr. Brown continues to work on policy, market and capital innovations in support of decarbonizing and increasing the resilience of the energy and building sectors.

Robin Weldy

Robin manages day-to-day activities of TerraVerde's Asset Management Services program. He ensures contractual warranties are fulfilled and issues are resolved in a timely manner by implementing consistent monitoring of solar and battery facilities, coordinating corrective and preventive maintenance, and developing performance and financial savings reports. Robin joined TerraVerde in 2014 and has worked in the renewable energy industry for more than ten years, previously at DNV-GL in their wind resource analysis and GHG program validation teams.
