VEG-FRESH - Key Persons
Adam Cancellieri is the youngest son of Dino Cancellieri, Sr. He grew up working at Veg Fresh during the summers in High School and College, before joining the company formally in 1999.
Adam earned his undergraduate degree in Business Agriculture from the University of Hawaii at Hilo, where he was immersed in the producing and growing aspects of the produce industry. He has since brought that knowledge to Veg Fresh Farms, growing the vertical alignment strategy of the business through partnership with growers up and down the California and Mexico coast. Adam become a general partner of the company in 2002.
Dino Cancellieri, Jr. is the eldest son of Dino Cancellieri, Sr., and one of the original partners of Veg-Fresh Farms. Dino Jr. first began working at Veg Fresh Farms while in High School, and started working full-time . He became a partner at Veg Fresh when he was 25 years old.
Dino has learned every facet of the business from first-hand experience, with an emphasis in distribution solutions, new business development, and marketing.
Dino Cancellieri Sr first started in the produce industry in the 1970s, working for his father's wholesale produce company, Potato Sales, on the LA Terminal Market, eventually becoming the General Manager.
In 1980, he started his first produce brokerage company RK Distributing. In 1985, the company expanded and became Orange Coast Produce. In 1989, along with cousin Mark Widder opened Veg Fresh Farms in Covina, CA, a tomato and onion repacking and distribution business with 30 employees. The company is now located in Corona, CA with a 200,000 square foot facility that employees over 300 employees.
Dino Cancellieri, Sr. is heavily engaged in the day to day sales of potatoes and onions.
Mark Widder began working in the produce industry as a teenager alongside his cousin, Dino Cancellieri, Sr. in the LA Terminal Market. He spent his first ten years learning the business as a salesman at The Potato Sales Company.
He left Potato Sales in 1989 to become a founding partner of Veg-Fresh Farms, where he has overseen the sourcing and distribution of conventional tomatoes and the overall growth of the company since 1989. Mark Widder has also grown the Foodservice division at Veg Fresh Farms from one concept to now over 25 concepts across the United States.
Randy Cancellieri is the second eldest son of Dino Cancellieri, Sr. He began working at Veg Fresh Farms while in High School, and formally joined the company in 1992.
Randy, along with his cousin and brothers, has learned the business from the ground up and has overseen the growth of Veg Fresh Farms since its inception. He specializes in sourcing organic and conventional produce for both the retail and foodservice sides of the business, and is also heavily engaged with the logistics end of the business. Randy also owns two truck distribution companies, RC Brokers and RDL Trucking, and is also engaged in new industry technologies.
