Dr. Alison She

Dr. Alison She grew up in Richmond, BC and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of British Columbia. She then attended the University of California, Berkeley for her optometry degree, where she had the opportunity to work with a wide range of patients in a variety of specialty settings. This included two rotations in veterans' hospitals in California and Washington State. Following her graduation in 2011, Dr. She completed a residency in primary care and refractive surgery co-management through Pacific University, an experience that allowed her to work closely with a team of optometrists and ophthalmologists in an integrated setting. Dr. She looks forward to serving the community for their vision needs. When not in the clinic she enjoys trying out new recipes and exploring Richmond's many parks with her family.

Dr. Brook Walker

A Montana native, Dr. Brook Walker enjoys everything the Northwest has to offer. He has studied Human Development and received a B.S. from Brigham Young University. Graduating with a Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry. When Dr. Walker is not caring for patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and five children doing a variety of activities. He currently sees patients at the Ferndale Vision Plus inside Haggen.

Dr. Deborah Wu

Dr. Deborah Wu grew up on the east coast before moving to Bellingham a few years ago. She received her optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. She enjoys watching movies and exploring new trails in the PNW. Dr. Wu sees patients at the Sunset clinic and James St.

Dr. Doris Wong

Dr. Wong grew up in southern California and received her bachelor degree in biology from University of California, Los Angeles.he furthered her education and earned her doctorate degree in optometry from University of Missouri, St. Louis in 2002. She had an extensive training in treating ocular disease from the externship program at the Veteran Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Besides her primary care practice, she also serves and provides eye care to the population whose mobility is restricted at various nursing homes in WA. Dr. Wong enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband and two children. She is faithfully involved in children's ministry at her church in Kent. She speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and some Japanese. Dr Doris Wong moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2002 after receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Missouri, St Louis. She also obtained a nutrition certificate from Cornell University and has implemented her new knowledge to support treatment and prevention for various eye diseases. Outside of work, Dr Wong enjoys traveling, snowboarding, and biking with her husband and her two children.

Dr. Dustin McGill

Dr Dustin McGill can often be found water-skiing on Lake Samish enjoying the sun with a big grin on his face. Before joining Vision Plus in August 2013, Dr. McGill obtained his optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Originally from the West Coast, he and his wife Ashley were excited to return to what they call ‘the best coast,' where they enjoy snowboarding, film, travel, the Vancouver Canucks and having fun on the lake. Dr. McGill sees patients at the James street clinic in Bellingham. Dr. Dustin McGill joined Vision Plus in August 2013. Before joining us, Dr. McGill obtained his Optometry Degree at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Dustin enjoys lake sports, snowboarding, the Vancouver Canucks, film and travel. He currently sees patients at the James Street clinic in Bellingham.

Dr. Eugene Wong

Born in Hong Kong and raised in Vancouver, BC, Dr. Eugene Wong graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree before pursuing a career in optometry. After working and studying at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the Kirk Eye Center in Chicago, Illinois, he obtained a Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University in Philadelphia. Since then, he has brought his skill-set and clinical experience to the Steveston clinic where he regularly offers routine eye exams, ocular disease diagnosis & treatment, co-management of refractive surgeries and contact lens fittings to his patients in both English and Cantonese.

Dr. Jake D Kent

Dr. Jake Kent grew up in Marysville, WA and loves the Pacific Northwest. He completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University-Idaho and graduated with his Optometric degree from Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Kent enjoys practicing a wide range of optometry and sees patients at our Marysville office. In his free time he enjoys golf, running, and hiking outdoors with his wife and two sons.

Dr. Jinous Ferdosian

Dr. Jinous Ferdosian received her undergraduate degree in Animal Biology at the University of British Columbia in 2011. She completed her Doctorate of Optometry degree at the Western University of Health Sciences in California in 2015. She started practicing optometry at Vision Plus in Bellingham, WA in 2015. She is currently practicing at the Ballard and Renton locations.

Dr. JJ Carlson

Dr. Carlson grew up in Vancouver BC, where he completed his bachelors degree (BSc.) in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. He completed his doctorate degree at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Carlson has trained at various clinics throughout the USA including: the Illinois Eye Institute (Chicago), Rush University Medical Center (Chicago), Chicago Cornea Consultants, University of Kentucky, and West Palm Beach VA Medical Center in Florida. Dr. Carlson is licensed in the State of Washington provide complete optical and medical eye care. From glasses and contacts to infections and foreign body removal, he is committed to providing quality eye care for all patients 6 months and up. The Oak Harbor clinic routinely sees patients referred from local physicians including pediatrics and the ER. Dr. Carlson enjoys providing specialized optical prescriptions including computer vision and target sports. In his free time he enjoys camping, freeride mountain biking and motorcycle track days.

Dr. John McGiffin

Growing up in Tacoma, Dr. McGiffin is a native of Washington, he enjoys playing with his children and spending time outdoors whenever he gets the chance. He obtained his bachelor's degree from BYU Idaho in 2006. He studied at Indiana University and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree.Dr. McGiffin enjoys educating his patients about the health of their eyes. He prescribes glasses and soft contacts, conducts diabetic eye exams and diagnoses and treats patients with glaucoma, macular degeneration and other eye diseases

Dr. Jolene Sun

Dr. Jolene Sun was born in South Africa, and raised in Vancouver, BC. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Sun then received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University in Portland, Oregon in 2011. Returning back to Vancouver, BC, she brings with her knowledge and clinical experience in ocular disease management and treatment, contact lens fitting, and laser surgery co-management to provide the optimum eye care to her patients. Dr. Sun currently sees patients at our Steveston clinic and is able to conduct comprehensive eye examinations in both English and Cantonese. In addition to conducting eye exams, Dr. Sun is enjoying her experience as a new mom and finding a balance between work and family life.

Dr. Josh Gill

Originally from central California and later raised in small town Blaine Washington, Dr. Gill has full embraced the northwest lifestyle. After graduating with his bachelor degree in Biology from Western Washington University, he later completed his Doctor of Optometry at Pacific University. He likes to spend his time outside of clinical care hiking in the PNW, golfing, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Gill is now caring for patients outside of our Mountlake Terrace location. .

Dr. Kimberly Paris

Dr. Kimberly Paris grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania and received her bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University. She received her optometry degree from Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry. In her free time, she enjoys reading and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles. Dr. Paris sees patients at our Barkley and James St locations.

Dr. Luke Hoekstra

Dr. Luke Hoekstra is dedicated to quality vision care and specializes in comprehensive vision exams, contact lens services, and expansive medical care. He and his staff hope to create a positive and memorable experience for you anytime you visit at Vision Plus Burlington. Dr. Hoekstra grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Minnesota State University with a B.S. in Biology with a health emphasis. He then went on to graduate with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forrest Grove, Oregon. In addition, he is a member of the American Optometric Association and Optometric Physicians of Washington. In his free time, Dr. Hoekstra loves getting involved with the local community, playing sports, and exploring all the outdoor activities Washington has to offer with his growing family.

Dr. Mark Aginsky

Mark Aginsky: Dr. Mark Aginsky, a Cape Town, South Africa-born optometrist, collected optometric degrees in South Africa, England and the United States before settling in the Pacific Northwest in 2000. An adjunct professor at Oregon's Pacific State University, he attends patients from our office on James street. When he's not testing eyes you'll find Dr. Mark zipping along Bellingham's bike paths and kayaking on Lake Whatcom with his wife and four children. Dr. Mark Aginsky is a South Africa born optometrist with a penchant for traveling and studying. Having obtained optometric degrees in South Africa, England and the United States, Dr. Aginsky settled in the Northwest eight years ago after a stint at the Brooke Army Medical Centre at Fort Sam in San Antonio, Texas. He resides with his wife, seven-year-old son and twin daughters. Dr Aginsky is currently an adjunct professor at Pacific State University. Dr. Aginsky currently sees patients at our Bellingham and Steveston Clinics.

Dr. Mark Potomak

Dr. Mark Potomak grew up in Aldergrove British Columbia and loves the Pacific Northwest. After graduating from the University of Calgary with a bachelor of science (BSc) in biology, he completed his doctorate degree at New England College of Optometry in Boston. Mark joined the Vision Plus team after returning to the west coast in 2017. He spends his time hiking trails around the PNW, learning new recipes and playing hockey. Dr. Potomak sees patients at James Street in Bellingham and Sunset Square in Bellingham.

Dr. Mark Pyle

As befits a six-year Navy veteran, Dr. Mark Pyle has lived on both coasts and several points in between. He finished his undergraduate degree at Purdue University in Indiana and graduated in 2009 with an O.D. degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. Dr. Pyle practiced optometry in Clarkston, Pullman, Lynden, Ferndale, Bellingham and Oak Harbor before relocating to Everett.

Dr. Sepideh Sabet

Dr. Sepideh Sabet is proud to call Whatcom County home. She was born in Iran and grew up in Bellingham after her family immigrated to the States. She graduated from Western Washington University and later attended Pacific University College of Optometry near Portland, Oregon for her Doctorate degree. Besides taking care of patients, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, working on DIY projects, and being out in nature in this beautiful part of the world. She currently sees patients in the Ferndale location.

Dr. Sierra Mattox

Originally a Florida native, Dr. Mattox joined the Vision Plus team in July of 2023, bringing with her invaluable experience in specialty contact lens fitting services, chronic ocular disease management, and full scope optometric care. Dr. Mattox earned her degree from New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. She is available on Thursdays and Fridays in Burlington for all of your optometric needs!

Dr. Vanessa Gregorius

Dr. Vanessa Gregorius believes success starts with your vision. She strives to find creative ways to meet her patient's visual needs and provides quality, comprehensive eye care for all ages. After receiving her Bachelor's in Fine Arts from Mills College in Oakland, California, she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree with a Master's in Research and Vision Science from Pacific University College of Optometry. Growing up in Los Angeles, she loves the peaceful, outdoor lifestyle the PNW has to offer. When she isn't examining eyes and keeping up with the latest research in eye care, Dr. Gregorius can be found taking her partner and two young sons on exciting adventures all around the great PNW.
