As a litigator, Ms. Porter has extensive trial experience in state and federal courts. Ms. Porter represents a number of companies and individuals in litigation involving various commercial, contractual, employment, and real estate matters. Ms. Porter also serves as general counsel for a number of local companies in employment matters and contractual disputes.
Ms. Porter serves as general counsel for several local and regional community colleges, junior colleges, and the colleges' foundations.
As a representative for institutions of higher education, Ms. Porter provides transactional and compliance counseling in a variety of matters, including contracts, bidding laws, leases, interlocal agreements, open records and open meetings as well as representing these entities in litigation. Ms. Porter also advises these entities regarding employment, student, civil rights, and constitutional issues.
