WINDBORNE - Key Persons

Adam Irizarry

Adam Irizarry (also known as singer/songwriter Adam Michaelson) is a pianist, singer, songwriter, and composer originally from The Bronx in New York City. Adam began playing piano at the age of 2, and was fortunate to have parents who encouraged and nurtured his talent, putting him in formal music school at the age of 5. Though he began his studies in classical music, his penchant for improvisation soon led him to jazz music. Already an accomplished pianist by his teens, Adam met a game changing mentor when he came under the tutelage of revolutionary pianist, Kenny Werner, with whom he studied for many years. As a singer/songwriter, Adam went in the direction of rock with his original music, performing at all the well known clubs in New York. After graduating from Manhattan School of Music, where he studied piano and voice, Adam appeared on Broadway in the lead role of "The Piano Man", in the hit Billy Joel Broadway musical, "Movin' Out", while he was an understudy for the role. A few years later, Adam played the roll of Burt Bacharach in the Shirelles musical, "Baby It's You", at the Pasadena Playhouse, where in addition to starring in the show, Adam was also the musical director and arranger. Now a resident of Los Angeles, Adam tours and performs all over the world as a singer, songwriter, and pianist. In 2016, Adam joined the Windborne Music team, and he finds these shows to be some of the most rewarding and fun experiences he's ever had touring and performing. When not on tour with Windborne, Adam is at home in Los Angeles writing and performing his songs, and composing original music for TV and Film. Bart also finds time to play in pit bands for regional productions and national tours of Broadway shows, and holds recording and production credits for a number of projects in both the U.S. and South Korea. Bart is also a gentleman, in that he owns an accordion but chooses not to play it! What equipment/instruments do you use? "For The Music of Queen show, I've been experimenting with different rigs; I don't need the variety of sounds that I've used on other projects, so I'm trying to find a simple, consistent set-up. I think I've settled on a Macbook Pro running Logic Studio with Mainstage, using a Yamaha S90ES as a controller." Who are some of your musical influences? "As a young kid, I listened to a lot of Mozart and Bach; when I was about 9 or 10, I broke into my dad's record collection and listened to an Oscar Peterson record, and spent the next ten years listening to jazz and Van Halen. Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans, U2- too many to name!"

Tony Vincent

Tony Vincent grew up in the small town of Albuquerque, NM, where from a young age he was exposed to the music of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. In his early teens Vincent began writing songs heavily influenced by Depeche Mode, New Order and Tears for Fears. While attending university (Nashville, TN), Vincent started a makeshift record company out of his dorm room and recorded a five-song EP, which led to a recording contract with EMI records. The two solo albums (Tony Vincent, One Deed) followed producing six #1 Billboard radio singles. Shortly after moving to NYC in 1997 to continue his recording career, Vincent took an unexpected detour into the world of rock-based theater, joining the cast of RENT, initially as part of the first national tour, then making his Broadway debut in the New York production in 1999. He was featured as Simon Zealotes in Andrew Lloyd Webber's remake of the film Jesus Christ Superstar (2000), and when the production was revived on Broadway that same year Vincent earned critical acclaim starring as Judas Iscariot. In 2002 Vincent originated the role of Galileo Figaro in the rock band Queen's smash hit We Will Rock You in London's West End. He also fronted the band itself on several occasions, including a performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" at Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee concert for a live audience of over 1 million people surrounding Buckingham Palace and over 200 million television viewers world-wide. Two years later he was invited to Las Vegas to open the North American premier of We Will Rock You (2004-2005). During this time Vincent continued to write, and in 2008 independently released the EP A Better Way, produced by Adam Anders. In the fall of 2009, he returned to Broadway, originating the role of St. Jimmy in Green Day's American Idiot. Vincent is best known for his appearance on the second season of NBC's reality singing competition, The Voice. While on the show, Vincent was selected to be on "Team Cee Lo," and made a lasting impression on fans worldwide with his final performance of The Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams." After 10 long months of writing, recording and producing, Vincent released his highly anticipated studio project, In My Head, through iTunes and cdbaby on July 10th, 2012. Tony Vincent continues to write and produce for future projects, both as a solo artist, as a producer for other artists and under the band moniker Mercer.
