With more than a decade of family law experience, Alyson's successes are the result of a belief system that embraces conflict resolution. She strongly values the benefits of settlement and compromise. Alyson works diligently to help clients reach out-of-court agreements because it provides certainty for the client and, in most cases, reduces the emotional and financial distress that litigation can create. In addition to her law practice, Alyson is co-founder of Legal Alternatives, LLC, an independent, nonlegal company that offers mediation and other forms of dispute resolution as alternatives to litigation for a wide range of disputes, including divorce and other family law-related matters. Alyson is also a registered guardian ad litem representing the best interests of children involved in custody disputes.

I have been litigating cases since 1982. Costs have risen dramatically and cases are more complex; sometimes taking a toll on budgets and mental health. An alternative to litigation for parties in constant turmoil is the collaborative process. The Collaborative Team helps parties reach a beneficial resolution by offering their skills, guidance, knowledge, and support.
For many years, I have worked with families seeking out-of-court resolution of divorce, marital property, and/or parenting issues to preserve family relationships, emotional health, and children's well-being. Elaine Buck is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a family relations law specialist. She is highly trained in various forms of alternative dispute resolution including collaborative practice, mediation and co-resolution. Elaine also provides representation in adoption/surrogacy and probate.
Elaine served on the Ohio Supreme Court's Sub-committee on Collaborative Law that drafted the Ohio Collaborative Family Law Act. She qualifies as a collaborative practice trainer pursuant to the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
Elaine is co-founder and annual co-trainer since 2015 for the Central Ohio Academy of Collaborative Divorce Professionals' basic training for attorneys, financial experts and mental health professionals in Collaborative Practice. She has presented on Collaborative Practice to such groups and organizations as: the Ohio House Judiciary Committee, the Ohio Supreme Court conference, Ohio State Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association, Capital University Law School, and Ohio Council of School Board Attorneys.
Liz has been trained as a collaborative law professional and recognized as a "Certified Specialist in Family Law" by the Ohio State Bar Association. Liz started her career as a criminal prosecutor and has been practicing in the family law field since moving to Ohio in 2008. Liz first worked in the family law field as a staff attorney for the former Honorable Christopher J. Geer, Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, Division of Domestic Relations and Juvenile Branch. She then built upon her experience in this specialized area while working for two top firms in Columbus, before starting her own firm where she offers the same high quality of service and expertise in family law with her own personal touch.
Liz continues to focus her practice exclusively in the area a Family Law which includes divorce and dissolution, legal separation, collaborative law, child custody, paternity actions, visitation, spousal support (alimony) and child support, prenuptial agreements, enforcement and modification of court orders and other domestic relations matters. Through collaborative law, Liz helps spouses take back control of ending the marriage in a respectful and dignified way.
Liz received a bachelor of science (B.S.) with honors in kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and went on to receive her juris doctorate (J.D.) from Southern Illinois University. She has also completed the American Bar Association Family Law Trial Advocacy Program through the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and completed mediation training through the Community Mediation Services of Central Ohio. She is a member of the American Bar Association Family Law Section, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Women Lawyers of Franklin County, the Central Ohio Association of Collaborative Divorce Professionals, and serves on the board of governors for the Columbus Bar Association. She is a past president of the Junior League of Columbus.
I was one of the co-founders of the collaborative law practice group in central Ohio in the late 1990s because I believe in its core tenets. It is important for people who are going through the dissolution of their marriage to do so as respectfully, honestly and cost-effectively as possible, while still maintaining control over the final decisions that affect their and their children's lives.

Robert B. Hawley, II joined the firm as an associate in December 1996 and became a partner in January, 2001.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Hawley served in the U.S. Army and the Ohio Army National Guard.
