In 1954, C.T. founded Austin Pump & Supply Company as a wholesale distributor of pumps and well supplies. He operated both Sterzing Drilling and Austin Pump until 1967 when he sold the drilling firm to concentrate his efforts on the wholesale distribution business of Austin Pump & Supply Company.
