Penny Aguirre

Penny Aguirre has a B.S. degree in Microbiology and a M.S. degree in Horticulture, both from the University of Minnesota. Her career has evolved from owning a perennial mail order nursery to working in the field of marketing new plant introductions to owning a winery in the upper Midwest. She started Biological Patent Services in 2003, focusing on intellectual property rights for plant breeders. As a U.S registered patent agent, she specializes in drafting and prosecuting U.S. Plant Patents and works with foreign agencies to assist clients with filing of Plant Breeders Rights worldwide. She is a member of the MN Nursery and Landscape Association, the Perennial Plant Association, the International Hardy Plant Union, the National Association of Plant Patent Owners and board member for the Minnesota Research Corporation.
