Capital Associates reviewed the CPG environment and recognized a market segment that was being ignored by "brick and mortar" outlets. As traditional grocery retailers de-SKU'ed their stores in response to financial pressure, category management, competitive alternate channels, CA saw a void that needed to be filled. Amazon.com Direct fills that void for consumers and manufacturers who are becoming more and more disenfranchised by their everyday grocery outlet. Consumers are finding harder and harder to find products that they have relied upon and manufacturers are finding it harder and harder to gain distribution due to the constant consolidation of chains. At the same time we see shoppers are moving to alternate retail chains however in most cases manufacturers are asking if the positioning of their products in these accounts is in the best interest of their brand.
