Dr. Carolyn Clay

Dr. Carolyn Clay is a native of Richmond, Virginia, who graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 2004. She has been a part of the Church Hill Animal Hospital team since its beginning in 2003. Dr. Clay has also worked for a small animal/exotic practice, 24-hour general/emergency practice. In 2015 she started Animal and Exotic Veterinary Services, a house-call practice. Dr. Clay's many veterinary medicine interests include general medicine and surgery, dentistry, laser therapy, exotic pets, and senior care. She is passionate about helping clients find honest, practical treatments that work for them and their animals. Dr. Clay is an advocate for homeless animals. She has fostered and adopted many stray animals over the years. Dr. Clay also volunteers at the Richmond Wildlife Center as a veterinarian and board member. She lives in Montpelier with her husband and two teenage children and their various rescued pets, including three dogs, four cats, a rabbit, and some fish. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, camping, and spending time with friends and family in the mountains of Augusta County. She also serves as an adult leader of her daughter's scouts BSA troop.
