Amanda Finke

Originally from Prince Albert Saskatchewan, Amanda moved to Medicine Hat in the fall of 2002 to attend the Medicine Hat College. In 2004, Amanda received her Diploma in Business Management from MHC. In 2009, after marrying her husband Craig and the birth of their children, Brianna and Brennan, Amanda returned to University. In 2011, she completed her Bachelor of Commerce from Athabasca University and graduated with distinction. In 2011, Amanda began her career at EBT and successfully completed the UFE in 2013. In 2018, Amanda completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course. Amanda's practice encompasses a wide range of services including personal tax preparation, corporate financial statements and tax preparation, audit services and advanced tax planning. Amanda is always willing to meet with clients after hours and prides herself on ensuring her clients' needs are met. Outside of the office, Amanda volunteers on various Boards. Amanda has served as the treasurer for McMann Community Services, Seven Persons parent council and Gas City Ball Hockey League. In her spare time, you can generally find Amanda at a hockey rink cheering on her children and their hockey teams.

Amy grew up in Swift Current. She attended the University of Saskatchewan and earned her Bachelor of Commerce in 2004. She obtained her CA designation in 2008 and achieved National Honour Roll Standing on the UFE. In 2009, she completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course. Amy joined EBT in 2016 as an Associate. She brought a wealth of tax and owner-managed business knowledge from her prior professional experience and quickly became a valuable member of the EBT team. She enjoys working with entrepreneurs coming up with creative tax solutions. Currently, she holds the position of Treasurer on the McMan South Region Board of Directors. Amy and her husband, Trevor, have a young daughter, Sadie, and a boxer, Stella, both of which keep them very busy. Summers are spent fishing and boating at Duncairn Dam in southwestern Saskatchewan.

Brent Fisher

Brent was born and raised in Medicine Hat and graduated from Athabasca University with his Bachelor of Commerce. He obtained his CA designation in 2004, joining EBT in October 2009 and becoming a principal in January 2013. Brent obtained his CPA (IL, USA) designation in February 2012. His USA CPA designation has allowed EBT to provide U.S. tax services to clients along with the wide range of personal, farm and corporate services offered. During his time at EBT, Brent has expanded his knowledge and services into providing controllership/financial assistance to his clients. Brent was married to Kristie in 2007. They had a son, Owen in November 2009 followed by a daughter Olivia in September 2011. Brent is actively involved in the community and has served on several different Boards and Committees. The family tries to be active through golf in the summer, skiing and skating in the winter, and travelling to various destination points.

Brett Pudwell

Brett grew up on a farm outside of Medicine Hat. He attended the Medicine Hat College for two years before finishing his Bachelor of Management degree in 2013. Brett has spent his entire accounting career with EBT beginning as a summer student and completing his articling with them to obtain his CA designation in 2016. Before going back to school for his accounting degree, Brett spent a number of years working in the oilfield in and around Medicine Hat. Brett's firsthand experience in his previous jobs have helped to create a strong understanding of the industries. Along with this, Brett also provides additional advice and services in the areas of tax planning, estate planning, controllership and all levels of financial compliance work. In his free time, Brett enjoys golfing, sadly cheering for the Oilers and spending time with his family. Cody Ibbotson

Cody grew up in the Red Deer area and attended the University of Calgary where he earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2008. After articling in Red Deer, he became a Chartered Accountant in 2011. Cody then moved to private industry where he worked as a controller for a large (now public) manufacturing company for 3 years. In 2015, he relocated to Medicine Hat and joined EBT as an associate. Cody's diverse background has provided him with the knowledge and experience to understand all aspects of business ventures including full-cycle accounting, profit improvements, tax, family and business planning. He also has a strong assurance background where he can provide audit or review engagement assistance. In his free time, Cody enjoys spending lots of time outdoors golfing, biking, riding horses, and spending time with family. Cody has a love of sports and can always be found cheering on his favorite team.

Cody Nicoll

Cody was born and raised in the Medicine Hat area, growing up on an acreage just outside of the city limits. He began studying accounting at the Medicine Hat College, and completed his bachelor of Commerce at the University of Calgary, graduating with honors in 2016. Shortly thereafter he began articling with EBT, and successfully obtained his CPA designation in 2019. Cody married his wife Renae in the summer of 2021, and they welcomed their first child, Addalynn, in the summer of 2022. Cody prides himself on excellent customer service, and has extensive experience with personal and corporate taxation. His practice is focused on tax planning for owner-managed businesses, including professionals and agriculture. Cody is actively involved in the community, recently serving as the Treasurer for the Canadian Mental Health Association, and currently serving as the Treasurer for the Medicine Hat Kinsmen. In his free time, Cody enjoys playing and cheering on his favourite teams in golf, hockey, and baseball.

Curtis Ensminger

Curtis was born and raised in Medicine Hat and obtained his CA designation in 1992. He joined EBT in 1994 and has been a principal since 1997. He completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course in 2001 and 2002. Curtis is proud of the highly competent team of professionals and technical staff that have been assembled at EBT and strives to provide the best quality work and service possible. Curtis has been active in several community organizations over the years including coaching minor hockey, serving various non-profit groups, and involvement with Chinook Pheasants Forever. In his free time he enjoys golf, hockey, fishing, and various other sports. Curtis and his wife, Jan also enjoy travelling.

Dalyce Cooper

Dalyce was born and raised in Medicine Hat, completing her Bachelor of Management in 2009 from the University of Lethbridge. Dalyce obtained her CA in 2012 and completed the CICA In-Depth program in 2017. Dalyce provides a wide array of services including personal tax preparation, corporate tax returns, assurance engagements and advanced tax planning. Dalyce is proud of the fact she is flexible in her practice and recognizes not everyone is 8-5. She is willing to accommodate others schedules outside of regular hours. She is here to work for you. In 2010, Dalyce and her husband Mike, moved to Swift Current where they have cattle on the family ranch that has been in the Cooper name for 100+ years. Their family expanded when their daughter Austyn was born in 2014 followed by their son Colt in 2017. Outside of the office, Dalyce is a member of the Swift Current Kinettes and sits as their Treasurer. She also recently completed a term as Deputy Governor for her zone in District 3 Kin. In her spare time, Dalyce enjoys playing slo-pitch and cheering on her kids in their activities.

Dan Thompson

Dan is a proud graduate of the University of Lethbridge. After pursuing a couple of dreams, Dan completed his articles and became a Chartered Accountant in 1998. Dan's expertise is working with small to medium-sized businesses in all industries. He is particularly focused on the challenges owner/managers face in navigating the complex world of taxation and wealth preservation. Dan's twenty years of managing a very wide variety of clients has given him the confidence to assist them to achieve their goals. Dan spends as much time as possible with his daughter, Quirina. They traipse around the country for swim meets and love to spend time arguing about the Blue Jays, boys and other very important teenager issues.

Derek Hirsch

Derek completed his Bachelor of Commerce in 2006 from the University of Calgary and has been active in the accounting profession ever since. He successfully wrote the UFE in 2009 to obtain his designation. In July 2016 he completed the In-Depth Tax program to expand on his tax knowledge. Derek has a diverse accounting background. He has extensive experience with personal & corporate taxation and tax planning. This experience extends to US taxation. He enjoys working with owner-manager businesses to help plan for and minimize taxes and solve business-related problems. Client service is extremely important to Derek. He responds quickly to calls or emails and maintains a flexible schedule to accommodate different meeting times. The local community is important to Derek and his wife Ashley. They have both served the community in various roles and board positions. They remain active in local sports which includes cheering on their children, Sawyer and Emery.

Donna Adams

Growing up on a farm in the MD of Acadia Valley Alberta, she always had aspirations of becoming an accountant. Donna attended the University of Lethbridge and received her Bachelor of Management with distinction in 2008. Upon completing university she moved to Medicine Hat to start articling at a firm in town. During 2010 she joined EBT and received her CA designation in 2012. Over the past few years, she has become the head of assurance at EBT and worked to quickly expand her knowledge. With her small-town attitude, she believes in striving to beat her client's expectations. She has vast experience in many sectors of industry but still holds farming close to her heart. Donna married her husband, Cory, in 2008 and welcomed his son, Dylan, during the ceremony. She helped raise Dylan through his schooling and enjoyed going to his football games, even though they could be unbearably cold. Throughout her career, she has volunteered with many not-for-profit agencies and sat on many boards in Medicine Hat. During the summer, she lives to enjoy the weather at Lake Diefenbaker, Saskatchewan spending many hours on the boat fishing and kneeboarding.

Graeme Cruickshank

Graeme was raised in Medicine Hat and began his studies in accounting during his Bachelor of Music at the University of Victoria, where he majored in classical guitar performance. He then obtained a post-degree diploma in accounting and started articling with a large international accounting firm, working in British Columbia and the Yukon. In early 2017 Graeme moved back to Medicine Hat and has been with EBT ever since. He obtained his CPA designation in 2019 and on January 1, 2022 became a principal of the firm. Graeme's area of practice is focused on owner-managed businesses, particularly in the agriculture and professional service industries. He has a strong assurance background, which extends to IFRS engagements. Graeme's professional services also include controllership, cash flow budgeting, and business acquisition support. In 2018 Graeme married his wife Gloria and in 2020 their daughter Nora was born. Since moving back to Medicine Hat, he has been actively involved in the community, most recently serving as the treasurer for the Friends of Medalta Society. In his free time, Graeme enjoys camping and hiking with his family, and still picks up his guitar every now and then.

Hayden Beck

Hayden was born and raised in Medicine Hat, before moving East to attend the Ivey Business School at Western University in London, Ontario where he earned his Honors Business Administration degree (with distinction). Hayden worked in Calgary in the finance and investment industry prior to transitioning to public accounting. He received his CPA designation in 2018 after articling in Calgary and Medicine Hat. Hayden joined EBT in 2015, and became a Principal in 2021. Hayden's background allows him to advise clients with particularly complex financial and tax situations, but he sincerely enjoys working with a diverse client base in a variety of industries including agriculture, manufacturing, and professional services. Always active in the community, Hayden is currently on three local executive boards: REDI Enterprises Society, Medicine Hat Kinsmen Club, and Medicine Hat Little League Baseball Association. For recreation, Hayden and his spouse Calee enjoy golfing, hiking, and taking road trips through B.C. wine country.

John Tempest

John was born and raised in central Alberta. He attended the University in Lethbridge where he received his Bachelor of Management with Distinction, majoring in Accounting. From there, he moved to Medicine Hat and achieved his Chartered Accountant designation in 2013. John's areas of focus include owner managed businesses with a focus on agriculture and professionals, as well as corporate and estate tax planning. He strives to provide his clients with a high level of customer service and great tax planning opportunities. His hobbies outside of work include restoring cars, golfing, and trapshooting.

Morgan Harrison

Morgan was born and raised in Medicine Hat and completed his Bachelor of Commerce in 2002 from the University of Calgary and started his articling with EBT. Morgan obtained his CA designation in 2004 and achieved National Honour Roll standing on the UFE. After obtaining his CA, Morgan completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course in 2006. In 2004 Morgan was married to his wife Jennifer and in June 2009 they had a daughter, Aubrey followed by a son Blake in September 2011. Morgan is actively involved in the community, and has held various positions on boards and committees over the years. Morgan tries to remain active in his free time playing tennis and golf in the summer, squash in the winter and travelling with his family.

Ryan Sirovyak

Ryan was born and raised in Medicine Hat and obtained his Bachelor of Management in 2012 from the University of Lethbridge, graduating at the top of his accounting class. He immediately started his articling with EBT upon graduation. Ryan obtained his CA designation in 2015 and afterwards obtained his USA CPA designation in 2017. Ryan's has a diverse professional background including: personal & corporate tax compliance and planning; controllership work for entities with revenues between $1M-$12M, and personal financial planning. His practice primarily focuses on USA and cross-border tax compliance and planning for both individuals and businesses. In his free time, Ryan enjoys hiking in the mountains, reading, and golfing. He has also been active in the community previously serving on the board for a local not for profit and teaching at the Medicine Hat College.

Rémi Poissant

Originally from Sedley Saskatchewan, Rémi moved to Medicine Hat in the spring of 2000 after completing his Bachelor of Administration degree from the University of Regina. After five years of working in the accounting department of a large manufacturing company in Medicine Hat, Rémi entered the Chartered Accountant program of the CICA. In 2008 he became a Chartered Accountant and joined EBT as an associate. Rémi continued his education completing level one and two of the CICA's In-Depth Tax Course in 2010. On January 1, 2013 Rémi became a principal at EBT. Rémi is married to Jane, who is also a CA at EBT. They have two daughters Jenna and Bree. Since moving to Medicine Hat Rémi has been an active volunteer with several not for profit organizations from the YMCA to the Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat. He has served as the treasurer of the Medicine Hat and District Chamber of Commerce and was a founding Co-chair of the Physicians Attraction and Retention Network of Medicine Hat. In his professional career he has worked on audit, financial statement analysis and tax planning. Rémi has performed controller work for a wide variety of companies, ranging in annual revenues from $2M to $50M. He enjoys the challenges that small business presents and helping his clients find solutions to their problems.

Todd Beck

Todd was born and raised in the Medicine Hat area and attended the Medicine Hat College and the University of Calgary where he earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree. He obtained his CA designation in 1989 after articling in High River and Medicine Hat. Todd worked for a large private company for eight years as the Controller and later as General Manager which forms his sound understanding of all business issues. Todd joined EBT and became a principal in 1998 and completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course in 2002.
