Connie Sams, a North Carolina Certified Paralegal, works in the areas of estate, probate, personal injury, workers compensation and litigation support. Connie has been with the firm since 2000.

RICHARD W. GABRIEL

Growing up working in his family's curb market, Richard Gabriel understands the pressures of owning and operating a small business and the value of a dedicated work ethic. His personal experiences have given him an understanding of the needs of families with special circumstances. His unique perspective helps clients with the care of elderly parents and disabled family members, including Alzheimer's and severe physical injuries. A lifelong resident of Greensboro, Richard attended public schools and served in the North Carolina Army National Guard (NCARNG). He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University in 1971, his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University in 1975, and his MBA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1977. He was editor-in-chief of the Wake Forest Jurist in 1975. Richard was a visiting lecturer at the Small Business Assistance Center sponsored by Guilford Technical Community College. He has co-authored several legal education manuscripts for the National Business Institute He was named one of the Legal Leaders of North Carolina 2013. The law firm has been recognized as one of the best in North Carolina. Richard's practice includes representation of injured parties and insurance claims. He handles business planning, estate and income tax matters, and estate planning and probate. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants. Richard is certified as a Superior Court Mediator (*inactive status*) by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission.
