David Hale

A Portland, Oregon native and University of Oregon graduate with a degree in Journalism, David Hale worked in the Portland development and home building industry before relocating to Boise in 1997 to start his company, Hale Development, Inc. For the past 20 years, Hale has been a leader in residential and commercial infill development and construction, focusing on higher-density, single family and attached-residential housing. Since starting his company at the fresh age of 24, Hale has developed over 350 infill lots, built over 450 residential units and in 2005, conceptualized and brought to fruition a new neighborhood in Downtown Boise. The Linen District's visionary and developer, Hale received an Idaho Smart Growth award for his commercial redevelopment of the six-block Downtown Boise neighborhood that includes the Modern Hotel and Bar, Linen Building Event Center, Big City Coffee, A'Tavola Gourmet Marketplace, as well as other successful businesses in the area. He is the first developer in Boise to utilize the EPA's Brownfield Redevelopment Grant Program to successfully clean up the contaminated Linen Building property at 14th and Grove. Hale is experienced in all aspects of real estate development and construction, including contractual relations, land acquisitions, entitlements, financing, developing, designing, contracting and marketing. His continued focus on building community and adding to Boise's overall livability is clearly evident in his dedication, passion and commitment to developing innovative infill properties.
