OBEX Industries was started in 1979 by Harvard trained Dermatopathologist and Dermatologist, Dr. Jacob Berger. Dr. Berger experimented with many different filter media in the 1970s when he was running a dermatopathology lab called Histo-Derm. After many product trials, Dr. Berger realized a superior tissue paper for specimen wrapping and filtering. He confirmed his findings by sending samples to major laboratories around the country, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback. Histo-wrap® supplies leading labs, universities and hospitals such as Inform Diagnostics, Intermountain Healthcare, Quest Diagnostics, Pathology Associates, Labcorp of America, Provincial Health of Canada, Duke University, the Cleveland Clinic and Massachusetts General.
