Intech traces its family roots in the Screw Machine business to the 1930's when Edwin Dowell opened up Hunt Screw & Manufacturing in Chicago Illinois. Edwin and son, Barry Dowell, came to Brockville, Ontario in the late 1940's and started manufacturing Canada's first ball-point pen as Roll-it Products Ltd.
