DR. DAVID JUDY

Job Titles:
  • Founder & Former Owner
It is with great sadness that we announced Dr. Judy's retirement at the beginning of July 2018. He leaves behind a legacy that spans more than three decades within the San Diego community and his associates, staff, and loyal clients will miss him dearly. Beginning his career in veterinary medicine in 1979 upon graduation from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, he ventured to Southern California to begin his practice which included companion animals in addition to exotic and equine medicine, although he eventually served companion animals exclusively. During this time, he held membership to a few professional organizations including the CVMA, AVMA, and SDCVMA. He also served as Chair on the Board of Directors for Lions, Tigers, and Bears - a local non-profit serving neglected and abandoned exotics. The JVC family wishes Dr. Judy the best in his retirement. At present, his plans include relishing in some much earned and needed relaxation time when he's not taking guitar, bass, and vocal lessons in anticipation of becoming a rock star god. In addition, he will be enjoying more time with his wife, their cat Skunk, and three dogs, two Golden Doodles, Bugs and Lola, and a Terrier mix, Tinkerbell, at their home in Nevada.

DR. JESSICA EIRI

Job Titles:
  • Owner
Dr. Eiri has been a part of the JVC family since 2015 after graduating from Dr. Judy's alma mater, University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. A Southern California native, having grown up in Diamond Bar and completing her bachelor's at UCSD, Dr. Eiri was excited to welcome back warm winters and find a privately owned animal practice that offered her the ability to continually learn and grow her knowledge and skills, while working alongside a seasoned professional. Although we didn't harbor any doubts, Dr. Eiri has blossomed into a talented and compassionate veterinarian in her own right and we are extremely fortunate to have found a practitioner of Dr. Eiri's caliber that wanted to join the team. In his last few working years, Dr. Judy was so impressed with Dr. Eiri, that in the summer of 2018, he offered her the option of purchasing the practice from him so he could retire and spend time with his wife and their many pets at their second home in Nevada. Dr. Eiri continues to carry on Dr. Judy's legacy and ethos within the San Diego community. In her spare time, she likes to catch up on her favorite reality shows, cook, go rock wall climbing, visit her family, spend time with her husband and baby girl, and their fur children, Charlie, a Great Pyrenees, and Marie Potato, a Russian Blue munchkin cat.
