DON'T EVER DO BUSINESS WITH FRANK SMITH. HE IS RUDE TO CUSTOMERS AND WILL OVER CHARGE YOU IF HE IS EMBARRASSED AND HE DOESN'T LIKE YOU BECAUSE HE IS EMBARRASSED. HE MAY JUST WANT TO KEEP YOUR RIFLE.

Frank Smith told me many times that he was friends with all of the Comanche Texas law enforcement. When I wanted to discuss the quoted pricing with Frank, he became belligerent. I couldn't get a word in because he was yelling into the phone. The Monday before the gun was blued, I told Frank that I wanted to pick up the gun and pay him for what he had done so far (which was to get a new stock - remember price quoted was $500). Frank became belligerent and loud and would not let me pick up the rifle.

I left the rifle with Frank Smith on August 30, 2014. It was finally completed according to Frank Smith on February 19, 2016. Frank said the total was almost $2400. That was over $1500 more than we agreed on and Frank knew I would be unable to afford a cost that was more than the rifle is worth. Did he just want to keep my rifle for himself? I called lawyers in Comanche Texas and they would not take my case as they knew him well. The Deputy Sheriff I spoke to said it was a "breach of contract".

Frank had my rifle for 18 months of which he says Remington had the rifle for 12 of those months making a new stock. There was no communication between LSG Mfg/Frank and myself so I phoned Frank every few months when he said that the rifle would be ready. Frank was embarrassed that the rifle was in his possession for 18 months and said he would "polish" it to a "deep blue" like a Weatherby. I said OK as long as it didn't cost over $1000. Frank said he understood.

Frank Smith owner of LSG MFG. in Comanche quoted a price of $430 to re-blue my Remington 700 BDL. Also quoted a price of $60 dollars to re-finish the existing stock. A few weeks later we discussed replacing the existing stock with an original Remington Custom Shop stock. I asked what a new stock would cost. Frank called me back and quoted a Remington stock for $500. I informed Frank the cost needed to remain under $1000. Frank said he understood.
