It takes its name from Bernat de Santa Eugenia, who was governor of Majorca shortly after the 1229 Catalan conquest. Typical of old agricultural Majorca, Santa Eugenia is one of the centres for the Binissalem DO wine region.
One of Majorca's principal tourist resorts, it has a good beach and plenty of bustle and activity. There is a yacht club and two golf courses, and one of the main celebrations is that of a battle between Moors and Christians in September. See our villas in Santa Ponsa
