Cynthia Rowark

Cynthia Rowark joined the Mattapoisett Animal Hospital team in 2022. She graduated from Penn Foster College with her AAS in Veterinary Technology in 2021. She is a freelance writer and copyeditor and enjoys spending time outside (as long as it's warm)! She shares a home in Swansea with her husband, Aaron; four cats: Cayde, Rose Marie, Olive Oyl and Mara; two rats: Eleanor and Luna-Louise and a leopard gecko named Freddie Joe.

Dr. Jill P. O'Brien

Dr. O'Brien received her DVM from the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. Jill enjoys practicing small and exotic animal medicine, with substantial experience treating birds, reptiles, rodents, and the occasional marsupial. She is also well versed in veterinary acupuncture. Jill's family includes her three lovely children... as well as 4 dogs, 7 cats, 1 horse, 2 goats, 8 chickens, 2 birds, 1 snake, and 2 mice!

Dr. Willard J. Gould

Dr. Gould is a graduate of Phillips Academy and Denison University. He received his DVM from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1976. Afterwards, he completed a rotating internship and a two year medical residency. He then became a board-certified small animal internal medicine specialist during the two years he spent working at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Following several years working in private practice in Huntington, Long Island, Jay returned to Cornell as a faculty member. He spent 8 years there, teaching small and exotic animal medicine and working as a referral clinician in the university's teaching hospital.

Dr. William S. Hall

Dr. Hall received his DVM from Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Will has special interest in dentistry, surgery, and dermatology. He takes pride in serving his community through small animal medicine. He has been with our hospital since 2016, and his personality and skills have made him a new favorite of our doctors, staff members, and clients. Will lives on Ned's Point and raises his two young sons Billy and Charlie with his incredible wife Megan. He enjoys wind surfing, working in the woods (ask him about his chainsaw!), and spending time with his family. He has a Labrador Retriever named Jenny which he will always refer to as "Daddy's Girl".

Joanne Nicholson

Joanne Nicholson graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. After graduation, she worked for a biotech company and then went on to work with marine animals. She joined our family in 2010. She lives in Wareham with her husband Kyle, their daughter Caelyn, two greyhounds: Moo and Fifi, their very sassy cat: Chuckles and a gecko named Clyde.

Kayli Barriteau

Kayli Barriteau has been working at our hospital since May 2018. Kay is a first-degree black belt and has been practicing Shotokan Karate for five years. She enjoys spending time outdoors fishing and spending quality time with her friends by the campfire.

Lacey Brum

Lacey Brum joined our team in January of 2019. She spent two years at Becker College studying pre-veterinary medicine and graduated from BCC in 2016 with an Applied Associates of Science with a Concentration in Veterinary Healthcare. Lacey has over 7 years of veterinary experience in both general and emergency practice. Lacey is an avid player of ultimate frisbee and loves snowboarding, kayaking, camping and hiking. When she's home, she loves spending time with her two cats, Troy and Miso and her dog Thea.

Makayla Boren

Makayla Boren joined our family in 2022. Makayla graduated from Bristol County Agricultural High School in 2018. After graduation, Makayla started working at a doggie daycare where she then realized her true passion is veterinary medicine. Makayla lives in town with her 4 dogs, Wallace, Hazel, Molly and Thor. She also has one cat named Hazel. Makayla absolutely loves photography and going on hikes with her dogs whenever possible.

Susan Perry

Susan Perry is our practice manager. She attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. After graduating in May of 1999, she began work at the Mattapoisett Animal Hospital. Susan has a black lab named Grady and two cats: Stitch and Woofie. She loves spending any extra time with her family and traveling up north.
