Bill Alexander

Job Titles:
  • Healthcare Practice Leader
"A baby is born, or someone is seriously ill - some of our most pivotal moments are spent in healthcare settings. We design spaces that help the healing process." With more than 40-years of healthcare-focused architectural practice, Bill is one of May Architecture's ACHA board-certified Healthcare Architects. As a result, he is well-informed with current healthcare-related topics, delivery models and regulatory requirements. Bill recognizes the importance of our long-term client relationships and, consequently, takes a hands-on approach with each of his projects. At project kick-off, Bill works directly with each client stakeholder group to establish project-specific goals and objectives. Maintaining open communication through regularly scheduled meetings, Bill oversees project implementation at each phase of development, and continues his support through field observation during construction, all the way through to ribbon-cutting.

Dawn Mixon-Bennett

Job Titles:
  • Director of Healthcare Planning
"Our work is like solving a complex three-dimensional puzzle. It is deeply satisfying to see staff and patients use their new space when the puzzle is complete." With nearly 30-years of professional practice, Dawn has extensive experience working with clients in hospitals, clinics, and academic medical centers to plan and implement complex healthcare projects across the country and around the world. Dawn spends time listening carefully to facility managers and user groups to understand their current building's operational and aesthetic challenges. Using this feedback as a guide, she initiates a collaborative process for helping clients develop a vision for their new facility. Throughout the design process and through construction completion, Dawn remains a client advocate, working hard to make sure the finished project reflects our client's original intent.
