Dr. Behnoush Rashedi

Dr. Rashedi believes that compassion, honesty, and expertise are her greatest assets when providing care to her patients. That is why she is driven to know and understand all the latest and most up-to-date techniques and possible treatment options in prosthodontics, to recommend those that are appropriate, and then to skillfully provide the highest quality services and most beautiful results. A graduate of the American International School of Vienna, Austria, Dr. Rashedi completed the highly rigorous International Baccalaureate diploma, which has a reputation for high quality education, international-mindedness, and a positive attitude to learning. Dr. Rashedi graduated Magna Cum Laude with an undergraduate degree in biochemistry from SUNY at Stony Brook and then went on to receive a Doctorate in Dental Medicine and a Masters in Education degree in 1998 from the University of Pennsylvania. After becoming a dentist, she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Here she completed a three-year residency and earned an additional Master of Science and Certificate of Specialty in Prosthodontics. Dr. Rashedi relocated to Philadelphia and joined the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. For six years, she served as a faculty member and maintained a faculty practice, practicing all aspects of prosthodontics. Dr. Rashedi's transition to private practice began in 2007, when together with her sister, a pediatric dentist, Dr. Sara Rashedi, she founded Oaks Dental Specialists LLC. Not only has she embraced her role as a private practice clinician, but Dr. Rashedi has also published numerous research manuscripts that have appeared in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and the Journal of Prosthodontics. Throughout her education Dr. Rashedi was an exceptionally motivated student, achieving membership in many honor societies including the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society. She maintains this level of commitment to date with her participation in numerous continuing education courses to stay up-to-date on the latest research and newest technologies in dentistry. Her commitment to life-long learning is evident in her pursuit to become board-eligible in 2007 by the American Board of Prosthodontics. Dr. Rashedi has lectured extensively nationally to provide education to others. She loves her work and relishes the opportunity to practice her profession. She also maintains active membership in the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Rashedi loves spending time with her family. Her other interests include skiing, painting, interior design, and traveling.

Dr. Sara Rashedi

The most important and unique aspect to Dr. Sara's practice is her ability to form a special and individualized relationship with each patient and parent to ensure a pleasant and friendly dental experience. Dr. Sara completed her International Baccalaureate and Austrian Matura diplomas from the Vienna International School in Vienna, Austria. She was then accepted to the seven-year Bio-Dental Program at the University of Pennsylvania where she received her Bachelor in Arts in 2001 and her Doctorate in Dental Medicine in 2004. Following this, Dr. Sara attended a one-year General Practice Residency at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown, PA. She continued her education at the University of Pittsburgh by completing a two-year residency in Pediatric Dentistry in 2007. During her postgraduate training, Dr. Sara also pursued an additional degree of Master of Public Health. Dr. Sara is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. To show her commitment to delivering quality pediatric dentistry, Dr. Sara completed the examination process of becoming board certified in 2008. Dr. Sara is a Diplomate of American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Sara currently holds a position as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. She gives lectures and also teaches clinical pediatric dentistry to dental students and pediatric dentistry residents so they learn the skills necessary for improving and maintaining the health of infants, children, adolescents and children with special needs. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the Dr. Earle Banks Hoyt Teaching Award. The year when a national rating system used a 10-point algorithm scale, factoring in experience, education, training, awards and peer endorsements, Philadelphia Magazine named Dr. Sara Top Dentist in her specialty in 2012. Dr. Sara is committed to continuing her education so she can offer her pediatric patients the most technologically advanced yet personalized care possible. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, College of Diplomates American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Pennsylvania Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Eastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also actively involved in the community as part of the American Dental Associations Give Kids a Smile program teaching young children the importance of maintaining good oral health. In her free time, Dr. Sara enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as skiing and traveling.
