Pinewood Perennial Gardens was established in 1971 by Sandy Friemann and Hank Rienecker with the vision of successfully growing landscape specimen perennials in containers. For 34 years with the help of their wives Betty Friemann and Lynn Rienecker, they developed a premier wholesale growing operation that provided their customers with a wide variety of quality plants and excellent service. But time marches on and after careful consideration, they decided it was time for a change, spend more time with their families, and enjoy life even more... The business changed hands in March 2006 when Butch Starkie, Starkie Bros./ALL Pro Horticulture and Scott Clark, previously with Cornell University Cooperative Extension, joint ventured to begin a new journey in the world of producing and selling perennial plants.
