R. M. Myers Company was founded by Robert Morgan Myers. Bob, as he was known in the industry, had a background in mechanical engineering. After leaving the US Navy, where he served as a machinist, Bob spent 5 years working with an engineering firm and then 5 more years working with a manufacturer's representative. As a "rep" Bob established an office in Jacksonville and covered the whole state of Florida. In 1961, Bob decided to go out on his own and the R. M. Myers Company was started. Bob was fortunate to have secured contracts with several well-known manufacturers and he had a solid market in north Florida and southern Georgia. In 1978, Roger Davis, a pump specialist, joined the company and the name was changed to R. M. Myers & Davis. The company operated under this name until Mr. Davis retired in 1987. Over the years, Mr. Myers added new lines that complemented the company's hydronic product line including boilers, valves and variable frequency drives. Additionally Bob hired more employees, thus adding depth and talent. In November 2007, the company made another transition. At the age of 83, after owning R. M. Myers for 47 years, Bob sold it to Eloy Bazaldua & Nelma Pineda. This began another new phase for R. M. Myers Company. Eloy brought 25 years of HVAC experience to the already strong team at R. M. Myers. His background includes 15 years with Carrier Corporation and field sales management in New York, Texas, Louisiana, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri and Florida. He holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas. Nelma's 25 years of experience in accounting, finance and operations further compliments the strong R. M. Myers team. She is a certified public accountant and has an MBA from the Simon School, University of Rochester and a Bachelor's degree from Fordham University. Through all the changes at R. M. Myers, one thing that never changed is the commitment to customer service. When asked to describe the reasons for his success, Mr. Myers once said," representing leading manufacturers, the best service and assistance to the engineers and contractors, being knowledgeable about the products and lucky enough to have really great employees." Eloy & Nelma share this thinking, "Great customer service means knowing your product so well that you become an asset to your customer."
