Catia graduated from University of Sydney in 1989 with Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy.
She commenced her career at Prince of Wales and Prince Henry Hospitals, working in a variety of areas including acute & post-acute orthopaedics & hand therapy. Catia was the senior physiotherapist for 4 years in an early discharge orthopaedic hospital to home programme.
Catia joined Southern Hand Therapy in 1998 and gained certification in hand therapy (CHT) in 2011.
Hayley graduated from her physiotherapy degree at the University of Cape Town and spent her initial training working in private practices in South Africa, the U.S.A and Australia, gaining expertise in orthopaedic and sporting injuries.
She has extensive experience working with upper limb injuries, and has worked exclusively in hands since 1998, working in busy private practices and running her own practice in Cape Town.
Hayley joined the team at Southern Hand Therapy in 2011 and has brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise in treating and managing complex injuries of the upper limb. She enjoys patient interaction, continued learning and creating splints to improve outcomes. Hayley consults at our Kogarah clinic.
Huy graduated with a degree in physiotherapy from the University of Sydney and has gained extensive experience in clinical hospital settings. Before joining Southern Hand Therapy in 2019, he worked at the South Western Sydney Hand Centre (Fairfield and Campbelltown Hospitals), where he developed a strong skill set in managing acute traumatic hand injuries. He has since worked at the Westmead and Wollongong hand clinics, and currently works part-time as a senior therapist in Western Sydney, specialising in osteoarthritis management.
Huy has a holistic-centred approach and enjoys creating personalised treatment plans to optimise his patients' health. His approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based practice, which he continues to enhance through his postgraduate studies in Hand Therapy at the University of Derby. Additionally, Huy advocates for the profession and serves on the Australian Hand Therapy Association Membership Committee.
Sophie graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) in 2009 and quickly found a passion for working in the field of Hand Therapy. Having joined the team in 2017, Sophie has added to the overall dynamic of the team bringing an enthusiastic and nuturing approach to the management of her patients.
