SPRING CREEK WATER COMPANY
Updated 15 days ago
Spring Creek Water Company (SCWC) supplies irrigation water to its shareholders in Providence City and the surrounding areas. Its distribution system consists of 8 laterals. The water that supplies the distribution system comes from Spring Creek at the mouth of Providence Canyon and the several springs in Providence Canyon that flow year around. The first settlers in the Providence area dug ditches to bring the waters from Spring Creek to their fields. Most of the current distribution system consists of covered pipes and open ditches...
The water rights of SCWC date to before the turn of the century, and begin on April 1 and end October 31 of each year. During years with significant spring precipitation, when users don't need the water, it may not be put into the system until May.
