Nathan graduated from St. Clair County Community College (SC4) in 1994, with an Associate of Arts degree in Political Science. While attending SC4, Nathan was Treasurer of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and then Student Government Treasurer during his 4th semester. Nathan interned with state Senator Dan DeGrow in Lansing during the 1993 fall semester and ran his own small construction business on the side during his SC4 years. Nathan married his lovely wife, Marvalinn, in 1996. They have four children. Nathan and his family reside in northwest Detroit, Michigan near their place of worship, Harvest Christian Church (HCC). Nathan serves on the HCC Board of Trustees and Marvalinn is one of the church's worship leaders. In addition to raising a family, Marvalinn is a songwriter and recording artist. Please visit her website at www.marvalinn.com. Nathan continues to volunteer with various community organizations: VISION, FACES Foundation, and Harvest Christian Church to name a few. Nathan was honored to be chosen as a participant in the Leadership Detroit 2005/2006 class that is offered through the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce. The class ran for 9 months and includes continued leadership training emphasizing the role of leaders in the Metro-Detroit region. Nathan held a Series 7, 65 and life insurance licensing. Through his past training and experience with with Financial Architects, Inc. and FAI Advisor, Inc., Nathan is able to help his clients gain an understanding of their overall financial picture and planning. Nathan started his own law practice in January 2004, specializing in individual Estate Planning and Business Succession Planning after working with a prior firm for 7 years. Nathan graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1999, where he participated in the Legal Aid to Urban Communities as a student attorney, and the Christian Law Students association as Treasurer. While working on academics, Nathan worked as law clerk for Wright Penning & Beamer. Nathan graduated from Hillsdale College in 1996, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy. While at Hillsdale, Nathan participated in the Greater Opportunities for Assistance and Leadership (GOAL) during his Senior year as Student Volunteer Coordinator. He also was Head Resident Assistant for Galloway Dorm during his last semester on campus. In between academic pursuits and leadership responsibilities, Nathan found time to intern with Hillsdale attorney Glen L. Ziegler, organize the 1995 Habitat for Humanity Spring Break Alternative trip, and work as a shop supervisor for the Theatre Department.
