Mr. Thornton has been actively involved in a variety of real estate endeavors for the past 50 years. In addition to his involvement with Thornton & Associates, where he serves as the company's chairman to the board of advisors, Mr. Thornton is co-founder and Chairman of The Development Group, Inc., a development company with an emphasis on rental apartments.

John "JT" Thornton - Founder

As founder and Principal of Thornton & Associates, LLC, John T. Thornton offers over 20 years of construction and real estate development experience. Areas of responsibility include all aspects of the investment process, from site selection and asset acquisition, construction management, financing, lease-up and disposition. He started his career in 1986 with a design build construction firm, The Haskell Company. There he served as Project Manager and continued his construction career through 1993 with two other construction companies, Elkins Constructors and Schultz Angelo Group. From 1993 to 2008, John formed Skyline reality Services, Inc, a Development, Construction and Management Company with emphasis on office and retail development.

Tommy Thornton

Tommy joined the team of Thornton & associates LLC in 2008 and has had an active role in property management, project evaluation, and project coordination. Like all the members of Thornton & Associates, Tommy was born and raised in Jacksonville Florida and has spent his whole professional career in the area. Tommy has over ten years experience selling heavy construction equipment, industrial chemicals, and heavy duty commercial vehicles. This experience, and an active role in the community, has afforded Tommy the opportunity to know and become friends with many of the top executives in Jacksonville and the surrounding area. Tommy has used his sales knowledge to build a strong relationship with distressed asset managers of local and regional banks, allowing him to evaluate and negotiate on properties, some before made public.
