Dr. Anna Shaw

Dr. Shaw grew up in Vienna and McLean. After completing her homeschool education she earned her undergraduate degree in biology at Marymount University in Arlington and her veterinary degree from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She was voted "Most Compassionate" by her fellow veterinarians in the Class of 2018 (Go Green!) In her spare time Dr. Shaw enjoys spending time with her family and friends and orange tabby Desmond, traveling, playing board games, cheering for the Washington Nationals, and attending Renaissance Faires. Huzzah! She feels blessed and happy to be practicing in her hometown.

Dr. Cory Kleinmann

Dr. Kleinmann grew up in Wisconsin surrounded by pugs, so it was natural for her to head to undergraduate and Vet School at the University of Wisconsin. She is a graduate of the class of 2006. She has been fortunate to have worked in multiple places, including Massachusetts, Georgia, and London! We are lucky to have her in Vienna, where she resides with her family, including her lab Winnie and English Setter Surrey. In her spare time, Dr. Kleinmann enjoys hiking, traveling, time with friends & family, and being involved in whatever activities her 2 daughters are into! Dr. Kleinmann has special interest in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Dentistry.

Dr. Eric Chafetz

Dr. Chafetz, born and raised in New York City, graduated from Cornell University in 1976, and received his D.V.M. from Cornell in 1980. After practicing near Albany, New York, he joined the Henry Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital of the ASPCA in New York City in 1981. At that time the Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital was the fourth largest hospital in the country. In 1985 he became head of medicine and staff surgeon at the hospital, and remained there until 1989 when he joined the Vienna Animal Hospital. In 1987 he sat for, and passed his board exams, and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, a level of expertise attained by less than 800 of the 75,000 veterinarians practicing in the United States and Canada. Unlike other specialty boards, the ABVP required recertification every 10 years, and Dr. Chafetz has resat and passed in 1997 and 2007. He has also been an editor for a prestigious national veterinary journal, The Compendium of Continuing Education for the Practicing Veterinarian. Dr. Chafetz, his wife Diana, a pre-school teacher, and their 2 children, Aaron and Emma have lived in Vienna since 1989. Currently their house is ruled by their two small dogs Bella and Teddy. Dr. Chafetz has been active in youth sports in Vienna, serving on boards in Little League, Babe Ruth, and the Vienna Baseball foundation, as well as coaching baseball, basketball and lacrosse. His hobbies include, obviously, baseball, as well as reading and politics.

Dr. Josh Drees

Dr. Drees grew up in Wisconsin where he completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. He then moved to Michigan to attend Michigan State University's school of veterinary medicine. During his time there, he volunteered in the MSU wildlife rehabilitation ward until he graduated in 2019. Shortly after graduating, he moved to Vienna where he lives with his orange tabby cat Desmond. In his free time, he enjoys sitting around a campfire, canoeing, going to baseball games, and Renaissance Faires.

Dr. Katie Collins

Dr. Collins grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. She received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science at the University of Maryland, College Park. She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. After spending a month at Vienna Animal Hospital during her final year of school, she decided to return as a full-time doctor after graduation. She has interests in point-of-care ultrasound, internal medicine, and clinical pathology. She now resides in Vienna with her husband and their cat, Albert. Outside of work, you can find her hiking, spending time with friends and family, or checking out local coffee shops and restaurants.

Dr. Nicole Brook

Dr. Nicole Brook is a graduate of the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, and can often be found in her Hokie colors at work. She shares her home with a plethora of cats and dogs, plus whatever they find outside! Dr Brook is an avid wildlife watcher and photographer, and when not at work is fond of long walks with her dogs, Kenny and Ryder.
