The point I'm trying to make, if anything, is this: If you're worried that it's too hard to keep up with the various parts of WordPress, don't. Instead, focus on the parts with which you enjoy working and then focus much of your time and effort on becoming the best possible developer you can for that area... I struggle with this constantly. I know I can do development-related tasks well and things adjacent to it. That's why I have a job. But that doesn't stop the annoying voice in my head from saying that I'm not doing enough or not smart enough.
