Dr. Melissa Cordero

Dr. Cordero was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She attended Oklahoma State University for her undergraduate and postgraduate studies. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She continued her studies at OSU and completed a Ph.D. in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences. After graduation, Dr. Cordero relocated to the DFW area to practice small animal medicine. She became the owner of Bartonville Veterinary Center in September of 2016. Dr. Cordero and her husband Chris share their home with a dachshund named Charlie, a cat named Lillie, and an American Staffordshire terrier mix named Luna. In their spare time, Dr. Cordero and Chris enjoy supporting local restaurants, traveling, gardening and spending time with their pets. Dr. Cordero also enjoys reading, horseback riding and spending time with her flock of chickens. Dr. Cordero is committed to her employees and the community. She is passionate about keeping our neighborhood pets healthy while providing an exceptional client experience. Dr. Cordero is also bilingual and enjoys connecting with Spanish speaking clients in order to provide the best quality medicine and care.

Dr. Susan Weisser

Dr. Susan Weisser was born in Wiesbaden, Germany and lived all over the world in a military family. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Biomedical Science and then earned her DVM from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Weisser moved to the DFW area to begin her veterinary career. She has a wide range of experience gained from her many years practicing small animal medicine and surgery. In addition to working full time at her own practice for 25 years, she remained on staff at a small animal emergency clinic. Dr. Weisser volunteers and fosters for many local rescue groups including Ranch Hand Rescue, North Texas Boxer Rescue, Apollo and Happy Dance Dog Rescue. She is on the Board of Directors of Cross Timbers Equestrian Trail Association. Her personal menagerie includes Bea, the boxer from NTBR, Chiquita the chihuahua from Apollo Rescue and various adoptable puppies from Happy Dance Dog Rescue. When not working at Bartonville Veterinary Center, she may be found working on her farm and taking care of her four mules Neena, Lilly, Reba, and Sedge (the retired USFS pack mule) or riding the trails!
