Mr Ross was the Direc tor of the Cen tral Land Coun cil from 1989 - 1994 and 2000 - 2019, rep re sent ing the Abo rig i nal peo ples of Cen tral Aus tralia. His long-stand ing expe ri ence in Indige nous Affairs includes being a Com mis sion er of ATSIC and the Chair man of the Indige nous Land Cor po ra tion. He has an Asso ciate Diplo ma in Busi ness Man age ment from the South Aus tralian Insti tute of Tech nol o gy. Mr Ross has fam i ly ties to the Kayte tye peo ple of Cen tral Australia.
Born in Dar win, Jonathan is of both Abo rig i nal and Tor res Strait Islander descent and is cur rent ly engaged by the North ern Land Coun cil as Man ag er, Region al Devel op ment. Based in Dar win he looks after a region al office net work in the Top End of the North ern Ter ri to ry. Jonathan has worked with in Indige nous Affairs for 25 plus years with both the Aus tralian Gov ern ment and the Land Coun cil as a Com mon wealth Statu to ry Author i ty.
