Mr. Alexander Jiayu Zhong (in Chinese, 钟家钰律师) is a skilled attorney licensed to practice law in Maryland, with a focus on personal injury and criminal defense largely for Chinese-speaking clients. He currently works at Jezic & Moyse, where he devotes most of his time to helping clients in personal injury cases.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Zhong spent over five years as a paralegal contractor working alongside excellent attorneys in the field of personal injury in Maryland and Virginia. During his time in law school at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law, he worked as a legal intern in a law firm in Maryland, where he assisted around 30 victims of car accidents.
Mr. Zhong has an impressive academic background. He earned his bachelor's degree in science from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, and his Master of Science from both Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the University of Connecticut. He also worked as an actuarial analyst for GEICO for five years and obtained four different categories of insurance licenses, giving him a comprehensive understanding of insurance.
In 2012, Mr. Zhong authored a book titled "Risk Management for Driving in the USA" (in Chinese, 《美国行车宝典》), in which he explains how to purchase suitable and cost-efficient car insurance to protect drivers and passengers, and how to protect oneself, to the best extent, after accidents happen. This 300-page book contains 100,000 Chinese characters and about 10 illustrations.

Ana M. Gracia is an immigration attorney with Jezic & Moyse. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Gracia worked for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington. At Catholic Charities, Ms. Gracia successfully represented individuals before U.S immigration courts, the State Department, the Department of Homeland Security, Board of Immigration Appeals, and Maryland State Courts. She has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and DC Hispanic Bar Association since 2019. She currently serves in the DC Hispanic Bar Association Public Service and Social Events committees. Ms. Gracia has volunteered with the American Civil Liberties Union and participated in the Justice-Free Zones: U.S. Immigration Detention Under the Trump Administration research report. She has also volunteered with Human Rights Watch's Voices for Justice project.
Before becoming an attorney, Ms. Gracia earned a Master's of Law Degree in Law and Government with a specialization in immigration and policy from American University Washington College of Law. Ms. Gracia was awarded the Program on Law and Government Merit scholarship and received the Judge Jerry Hermele Book Award. During her time at American University, Ms. Gracia worked at the Immigration Justice Clinic, as a Dean's Fellow, and assisted in representing individuals before the Arlington Asylum Office, Board of Immigration Appeals, and State Department. At the same time, Ms. Gracia completed an externship with the American Bar Association's Commission on Immigration. Her externship consisted of working with detainees in ICE custody conducting remote individual orientations and assisting them with their immigration proceedings. Ms. Gracia drafted a pro se Stay of Removal, Exclusion, and Deportation Guide, and a pro se Cancellation of Removal guide.
Ms. Gracia received her J.D. Degree from St. Thomas University College of Law and her B.A. degrees in Political Science and International Relations from Florida International University.
During her law school career, Ms. Gracia provided direct representation at her law school's immigration clinic. As a law student representative, Ms. Gracia represented individuals before U.S. immigration courts, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Board of Immigration Appeals. Of particular note was her successful advocacy in a detained client's appeal to the Board of Immigration Appeals, applying Dimaya v. Sessions (2018), to a Florida criminal statute, engaging in the technical "categorical approach" for analyzing the immigration consequences of criminal convictions, and convincing the Board of Immigration Appeals to both reverse a final order of removal and terminate removal proceedings.
Ms. Gracia served as her law school's Vice President of the Environmental Law Society (2016 - 2018); the Social Chair of the Immigration Law Students Association (2018-2019); and the membership coordinator of the International Moot Court team. Ms. Gracia was awarded the Pro Bono Commendation Certificate in the Spring of 2018 and 2019. Throughout law school, Ms. Gracia interned at the Miami Dade Office of the State Attorney's where she assisted prosecutors in trial preparation, expungement proceedings, and screening cases.
Ms. Gracia was born in Bogota, Colombia and migrated to the United States when she was 7 year-old. She witnessed her father represent their family, pro se, before the Miami immigration court and then the Board of Immigration Appeals before being granted Asylum in 2001. Ms. Gracia's own journey as an immigrant has shaped the passion, she has for immigration law.
In her spare time, Ms. Gracia enjoys playing chess and is part of the District Chess Club in Washington, DC. She enjoys the outdoors, working out, hiking, kayaking, biking, traveling and leisure reading.

Alexandra Rickart is a Maryland criminal defense attorney with Jezic & Moyse. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Rickart worked as an attorney with the international law firm, Baker McKenzie in Tampa, Florida. Ms. Rickart is barred in both Florida and Maryland.
During her time at Baker McKenzie, Ms. Rickart assisted with claim transfer agreements and tracked data related to a global claim purchasing process in an international cryptocurrency bankruptcy proceeding. She also assisted with the preparation of various business immigration petitions such as H-1B, L-1, Adjustment of Status, and TN. One of her most rewarding projects, however, was her pro bono work assisting with the Homeless Youth Handbooks that are published to assist homeless youth learn about their rights, responsibilities and resources during all aspects of life in their respective home states.
Ms. Rickart graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law magna cum laude with a concentration in international law. While in law school at the University of Baltimore School of Law, Ms. Rickart received the Royal Graham Shannonhouse III Honor Society - Scholar award. She was involved in extra curriculars, including holding a position as the Vice President of the International Law Society, a Fellow for the Center for International and Comparative Law, a member of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Team, and the Comments Editor for the University of Baltimore Journal of International Law. Ms. Rickart also published a short essay, "To Be or Not to Be, That is the Statehood Question" in Volume III, Issue 2 of the University of Baltimore Journal of International Law in January 2016.
Ms. Rickart also volunteered as a tutor for the University of Baltimore School of Law's Truancy Court program which helps understand the causes of truancy for children, specifically in high-risk areas, and assist them with improving their relationship to school. Ms. Rickart loves working with youth and assisting in the community. She was also involved as one of the first students in the University of Baltimore School of Law's Juvenile Justice Project clinic, where she served as a Rule 16 Student Attorney and assisted an incarcerated client in preparing a parole packet and advocating for her release. Ms. Rickart also studied abroad during her third year of law school at King's College London in London, England.
Prior to law school, Ms. Rickart earned her Bachelor's degree in Communication at the University of Missouri.

Amal Bertrand, a partner in the firm, is the chair and lead attorney among six attorneys in the personal injury department of Jezic & Moyse. Ms. Bertrand leads the team of veteran trial attorneys who have achieved over $45 million in verdict and settlements for the firm's clients.
Ms. Bertrand has achieved impressive results in several serious jury trials. In 2011 she co-chaired a jury trial un which the jury found her client Not Guilty of all charges, despite a full confession to the crime. Astrid Tello-Rodriguez is a Maryland criminal defense attorney with Jezic & Moyse. Prior to becoming a licensed attorney, Ms. Tello-Rodriguez worked as a law clerk for the firm. In that position, she worked in both the immigration and criminal defense departments assisting attorneys in preparing immigration filings and materials for trial. The first jury-trial Ms. Tello-Rodriguez assisted with concluded in a "Not Guilty" verdict for a sexual offense charge.
Ms. Tello-Rodriguez has a history of passionately serving individuals in need and helping folks get a second chance in life. She whole heartedly believes that every individual drudging through our justice system deserves zealous representation in order to have a truly fair opportunity in court.
Ms. Tello-Rodriguez earned her undergraduate degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, graduated summa cum laude, was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society, and received the state's Student Lincoln Laureate Award for her school. Ms. Tello-Rodriguez earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law. As a law student, she held a variety of public service positions. She volunteered in Iowa Law's Citizen Lawyer Program where she researched strategic planning best practices for the Iowa Supreme Court's Access to Justice Commission. She also worked as an immigration legal intern for the Tahirih Justice Center in Baltimore, MD. There, she assisted in preparing time-sensitive immigration case filings for clients fleeing gender-based violence. As an intern for FAMM's Compassionate Release Clearinghouse, Ms. Tello-Rodriguez tracked federal cases and analyzed court orders and denials for sentence modifications.
However, it was Ms. Tello-Rodriguez's work as a certified law student practitioner in Iowa Law's Federal Criminal Defense Clinic that sparked her enthusiasm for criminal defense. In Clinic, Ms. Tello-Rodriguez represented clients with federal drug convictions seeking sentence reductions and federal clemency.
Ms. Tello-Rodriguez is a proud immigrant from Venezuela. As a young child, she immigrated with her mother to Illinois and grew up in Iowa. She is fluent in Spanish and has held positions as an interpreter and translator. Since 2019, she has served on the Board of Directors of Tapestry Farms, a non-profit serving refugees in Davenport, Iowa. Christine B. DuFour has been licensed to practice law in Maryland since 1990. Ms. DuFour is a graduate of Villanova University and the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar and the United State's Supreme Court. Ms. DuFour is an officer for the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys' Association; an appointed member of the Maryland State Bar Association Criminal Law Section Council; a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; and a member of both the Caroline County and Talbot County Bar Associations.

Ms. DuFour spent 4 years with the agency defending clients in Caroline County where she tried numerous cases before juries and received acquittals in theft, biking while intoxicated, and burglary cases. Most recently, Ms. DuFour spent eight years in Talbot County with the last three as the supervising attorney. Prior to leaving the Office of the Public Defender, Ms. DuFour obtained a Stet (State Declined to Prosecute) in a Second Degree Rape case that lacked any physical or scientific evidence. The charge was based on the complainant's word alone.
In November 2023, Ms. DuFour was chosen by the Editorial Board of the Daily Record as a 2023 Criminal Law Power List Honoree. She was one of 23 chosen from across the state of Maryland to receive this honor.
Ms.DuFour remains active in the Talbot County community as a current board member of Talbot Mentors, a past president of Mid-Shore Pro Bono, a former fundraiser for Habitat Choptank, a junior sailing fundraiser, and supporter of Talbot Interfaith Homeless Shelter.

Prior to working with Jezic & Moyse, for the past 10 years, Erik was a sole practitioner, running his own law office. Erik's primary focus at his firm was representing clients who were injured due to the negligence of others. Erik also served as defense counsel for a major Maryland insurer.
Before that, Erik worked as claims counsel for a major, national insurance carrier for 10 years handling issues related to excess judgments, bad-faith litigation, insurance regulations, policy/contract issues, training and large dollar claims. As such, he has experience handling all aspects of an automobile accident claim and can bring that experience to bear in your case.
Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Erik was a Navy brat who lived on U.S. military bases in Germany and Puerto Rico, before permanently settling down in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He went to Green Run High School where he participated on the debate team. In college, Erik played soccer.
Erik won a $235,000 arbitration award for a client who suffered a broken ankle when a negligent driver failed to yield the right of way with a red light and struck his client who was making a turn with the green light. Joel Richardson is an attorney in the personal injury practice of Jezic & Moyse, with more than 15 years' experience in successfully resolving personal injury claims through zealous representation. He was raised in Maryland, earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and earned his J.D. from the Catholic University of America. Joel has been an attorney since 2005.
At Jezic & Moyse, Joel devotes his practice to helping clients injured due to the carelessness or fault of others. Joel worked as in-house counsel for more than 10 years for a major insurance company - representing its policy holders and insureds, and often the insurance company itself. Through that experience, and the successful resolution of hundreds of injury cases, Joel learned how to effectively communicate with insurance and claims-representatives, as well as opposing counsel. Joel successfully tried dozens of cases in jury and bench trial across Maryland, and resolved still more through binding arbitration and direct settlement. He has since worked on personal injury matters in a premises liability setting, resulting in a number of six-figure settlements for injured clients.
After graduating from law school, Joel clerked for the Honorable James Ryan in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County from 2004-2005. Michael Stark is one of the newest attorneys to join Jezic & Moyse. He comes to the firm after reaching out to Andy Jezic about a murder case. The client was an Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran (and truly, a war-hero) who had defended himself and his family after coming under attack by a Baltimore gang member. There was just one problem: the client didn't have the means to afford a private attorney. Michael worked hard to tell the client's story in the media, and after appearing on national radio and cable news programs, he drew notice from a national gun rights advocacy organization that fully funded the defense.
That's Michael in a nutshell. He views lawyering as problem-solving.
He knows people are facing frightening and difficult challenges, and that is true whether your case is marijuana possession or DUI, or if your case is armed robbery or murder. Nobody wants to be standing alone before a judge while a prosecutor does everything possible to convict them.
The truth is, Michael usually does not want it to come to that either. That's why he worked out a plea in a car-jacking case that had the accused receive a stet, on the condition that they enroll in community college and submit their grades in six months. And that explains why he asks so much from his DUI clients: he knows that for you to receive the best result, you need be in a position to impress the judge when you arrive to court.
Maybe the most unique aspect of Michael's background is that he has been in the same shoes as his clients. He's even been beaten up by police! And in 1994, Michael was a 25-year-old waiter and college student when he got a DUI - from the passenger seat of his car! Michael could only afford a public defender, who begged him to plead to a lesser alcohol charge (probably because she did not believe Michael's story.) Michael refused to accept guilt for something he did not do, and ultimately the alcohol charge was dismissed.
Rand W. Lucey, a partner, primarily handles criminal cases in the state of Maryland. He represents clients facing a variety of criminal and serious traffic charges everyday in both Circuit and District Courts in Maryland.
As a criminal defense lawyer Mr. Lucey has tried two first degree murder cases before a jury. Himedes is a graduate of the University of Scranton. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he represented indigent clients as student attorney in the law school's Immigration Clinic. He also served as the Executive Articles Editor for the Maryland Journal of International Law, an Asper Fellow for the Honorable Althea M. Handy, Circuit Court for Baltimore City, and a Legislative Law Clerk for Senator Ben Cardin in the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary.
Himedes is a member of the state bar of Maryland and is admitted to practice law in the U.S. District Court for Maryland and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Kyoung Min (Alex) Kim is an attorney admitted to practice law in Maryland and District of Columbia. Prior to joining Jezic & Moyse, Mr. Kim vigorously represented clients at all stage of immigration matters, including filing applications to USCIS and representing clients before the immigration courts in Baltimore, Maryland and Arlington, Virginia.
Mr. Kim graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, and received his J.D from American University Washington College of Law, where he graduated cum laude. During his time in law school, Mr. Kim worked at the Immigrant Justice Clinic, assisting clients from underprivileged communities. Mr. Kim always made sure that his clients understood that they deserved a zealous advocate, regardless of their immigration status.
Now, Mr. Kim is devoted to representing clients who were injured by negligent drivers. Mr. Kim understands that accidents can be extremely stressful and the recovery process can be painful.
