Roberts County Farm Mutual Insurance Company (RCMI) is celebrating 119 Years. We have been serving South Dakota since 1905. At Roberts County Farm Mutual Insurance Company, we are owned by the policyholders themselves... Roberts Co. Mutual merged in 1994 with Kingsbury Farm Mutual Insurance Company in DeSmet, SD. In 1998, we acquired the policyholders of Denver-Kingsbury Farm Mutual Insurance Company. In 2008, Roberts Co. Mutual merged with Central Farm Mutual in Onida, SD. At this time, Roberts Co, Mutual expanded their business in the western part of South Dakota... Roberts County Farmers Mutual Insurance Company had its first organization meeting in 1897. One hundred and two signatures were obtained, mostly in the northern and northeastern part of Roberts County. Applying for a charter was postponed because Roberts County had some turmoil regarding the County seat. During this time, the newly formed Roberts County Farmers Mutual Insurance Company did not file for a charter.
