THORNTON DAVIS MINERALS

Thornton Davis Minerals, LP was a Texas limited partnership, now defunct, that was created to hold the mineral interests bequeathed by Thornton Davis to his heirs. Thornton Davis was an active petroleum geologist from about 1920 to the mid 1960's. During his long career he picked up small mineral interests that he felt had potential, often as part of his fee for work done for major oil companies. (Although it is a family rumor that some were acquired through his skill at poker playing.
