Dallas Sports

Dallas has five major sports teams: Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, Texas Rangers and FC Dallas. No matter what time of the year it is, there's always some big-time pro sports happening around the Metroplex. There is also college football in the city, with SMU in central Dallas and TCU over in Ft. Worth. North Texas is just up the road in Denton, and the country's best college football experience takes place every October when Texas plays Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry at the Cotton Bowl. Dallas also hosts the Big 12 Championship Football Game and the Cotton Bowl game. Another big event in the Metroplex is the Fort Worth Rodeo, which will be held at Dickies Arena.

Houston Sports

There are four major professional sports team in Houston: Houston Astros, Houston Texans, Houston Rockets and Houston Dynamo. College sports also has a big following with Houston and Rice located in-town, while Texas A&M and Texas are just a short-drive away. If it's a big event, you can bet it's taken place in Houston. NRG Stadium has been the go-to venue since it was built for the Houston Texans, and with a seating capacity of more than 71,000, it is one of the largest stadiums in the NFL and has hosted everything from the Super Bowl to the NCAA Final Four.

Jazz Fest

Jazz Fest is the first concert to come to mind whenever you mention New Orleans concerts, and it does not disappoint. New Orleans is known for its great array of jazz music, but there are enough venues in the city to incorporate any type of show. New Orleans is one of the best cultural cities in the country, any they have the music to prove it.
