Universal Marine Company (UMC - previously known as National Containers Company: ‘NCC') was incorporated in Kuwait in 1996 by a group of eminent Kuwaiti businessmen after the liberation of Kuwait from Iraq invasion. The vision of these businessmen was to cater best container services to the shipping lines which was not existing in Kuwait. The company initially was registered with shareholding of Kuwait Port Authority (KPA), United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) and other eminent Kuwaiti business men.UMC had its registered office in Kuwait Port Authority building, and in 2011 the Head Office had been shifted to AL-JOAN Tower, 23rd Floor, Fahad Al-Salem Street in Kuwait City for more convenience and development activity. The Company has 15,000 SQ.MT area for its storage depot, work shop & repair facilities which is located in the strategic location at outside of Shuaiba Port entrance which is very accessible to all shipping lines for their easiness in related operations.
