Dale Colling, Founder and Managing Partner, based in Shanghai. Dale's background includes 30 years of business experience in China, including extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, both as an advisor and principal. Among other things, Dale was a founder and served as Chairman of HuaMei Telecommunications Company, a Sino-US joint venture with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, the top level Committee of Science and Industry for National Defense (COSTIND), which installed the first full service broad band network in the world in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province of China. Dale has excellent connections with senior China officials and extensive experience in the major commercial geographical areas in China. Prior to 1988, he was a partner at the international law firm Mayer Brown (formerly Mayer, Brown & Platt) specializing in business law, mergers and acquisitions, and international transactions.
Dale holds a B.A. (highest honors, Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Michigan and a J.D. (cum laude) from Harvard Law School. He is the author of numerous articles on business matters.
David Chandler, Partner, based in London. David assists with the European operations of ALC. Most recently, he was a Director of Höegh Capital Partners Advisors Ltd., an investment advisory firm where he was responsible for its private equity fund of funds activity, as the firm's finance director and as a Partner in its investment advisory business to Gemini Oil & Gas Limited, a private equity fund. He is a past Managing Director at Bank of America, where he led syndicated debt finance (EMEA) for company acquisitions, leveraged buy-outs, and international project financings.
David is a qualified Solicitor and holds an MBA from London Business School.

Dean Ho, Partner, based in Shanghai. Dean began business in China in 1981. He was a member of advisory teams that formed 39 China joint ventures. Among these were Eaton Automotive (Shanghai Eaton Valve), Donnelly Corporation (Donnelly Automotive Trim), Cooper Power Systems (PDS Edison Power Systems), Xerox (Shanghai Xerox), and Tenneco Automotive (Monroe Shock Absorbers). He has also assumed direct management in operations that included aluminum extrusions, fabrications, building construction, construction management, export product inspections, factory evaluations, and SME business start-ups. Dean is an independent board member of A-S China Plumbing Products Ltd., a manufacturing and distribution subsidiary of American Standard Companies Inc. with seven businesses in China, and member of its Audit Committee.
Dean has been an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, serving as the Chairman of the Manufacturers Business Council from 1995 to 1997, Secretary in 1998, Chairman of its Board of Governors in 1999 and currently Chairman of its Ethics Committee. He participates in briefings to American Chamber of Commerce focus groups, companies, government agencies, and the US Congress.
Dean holds a B.S. from Cornell University, a B.A. from University of California at Berkeley, and attended the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School.
Jiuguang Song, Partner, based in Shanghai. Jiuguang has substantial experience in a wide array of industries where he focuses on market intelligence, strategic planning, business development, and strategic sourcing. Prior to joining ALC, Jiuguang held senior management positions with Brooks Communications, Sprint, and IBM. He was a senior research fellow with Stanford University's Center for International Security and Cooperation and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, which is responsible for guiding central government decision-making and policy. Jiuguang's research focused on international trade, technology transfer, and industrialization policy.

Diane E. Long, Senior Advisor, Apparel. Diane has more than 20 years experience in sourcing and supply chain management in China and Asia. Diane was Vice President of Liz Claiborne and General Manager of its China operations from 1996 to 2005. From 2005, until joining ALC, Diane was China country manager for Adidas sourcing operations and led the integration of Reebok's China operations with Adidas. Diane is a past-Chairman of the Shanghai American Chamber of Commerce, established its Sourcing and Procurement Committee, and serves on its Board of Governors. She is active in many charitable and civic activities in Shanghai.
Diane holds a B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University and is a graduate of the Insead Asian Business Program.

Douglas S. Dawson, Senior Advisor, Management and Operations. Doug's background includes 17 years of business management in China in the formation, management and restructuring of joint ventures and wholly foreign owned enterprises (WOFEs). In 1988, Doug was responsible for the formation by Ingersoll-Rand (IR) of Shanghai Ingersoll-Rand Compressor, Ltd. (SIRC). Doug led SIRC as Managing Director to become one of the top 500 companies in China during the 1990's as reported by the Beijing Government. As Vice-president and Vice-chairman, he restructured Shanghai Dresser-Rand Compressor and as Vice-president for IR's UK company Johnson-Matthey PLC, formed and started up their catalytic converter coatings WOFE. In his 25 year career with IR, Doug was directly involved in numerous other IR company start-ups.
The Shanghai Municipal Government awarded Doug the distinguished "Magnolia Medal" for his contribution to the economic growth of Shanghai. He is also a recipient of the "Friend of Shanghai? award presented by the Shanghai Municipal Government. As a past President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, Doug founded the Manufacturers?Business Council, a forum for sharing ideas, relevant information, and experiences for all professionals involved in the upper-management of manufacturing in China. Doug holds a B.A. from Stetson University and attended the Dartmouth College Tuck Business School Executive Development Program.

Floyd G. Hoffman, Senior Advisor, M and A and Strategy. Floyd has more than thirty years experience with major businesses in the United States and abroad working in the areas of corporate law and corporate development and strategy. He has extensive international experience, having negotiated and executed over 100 acquisitions around the world. Floyd retired in 2006 from Russell Corporation after serving eight years as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, General Counsel and Secretary. Russell Corporation, based in Atlanta, is a $1.4 billion international sporting goods company with athletic apparel, equipment and athletic shoes sold under the Russell Athletic, Jerzees, Spalding, Brooks, Mossy Oak, Huffy Sports, Moving Comfort, Bike, AAI, Dudley and Cross Creek brand names. Prior to his position at Russell, Floyd spent twenty-two years with Sara Lee Corporation serving as its Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at its corporate headquarters in Chicago and as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Sara Lee/DE in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Floyd holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley and a J.D. from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley.

Ken Wu, Senior Advisor, Corporate Finance. Ken currently acts as Manager of Assets Operations for Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC), where he is responsible for mergers and acquisitions. Previously, Ken was a Managing Director of INKEN Investments, LLC (Shanghai), a financial advisory company and a Manager of Finance for General Motors (China). Mr. Wu worked in the United States for Southwest Value Partners, a California property development firm in Los Angeles, from 1996-1999. In 2005, Ken lead a team in the acquisition by SAIC of technologies and assets from MG Rover. He has extensive experience in operations establishment, corporate finance, and business development. Ken holds a B.A. in Business Economics and Finance from UCLA.
Lisa Colling, Partner and General Counsel. Lisa has over 25 years experience as an international business lawyer. She has acted as legal counsel in connection with numerous transactions in China, including joint ventures, forming Chinese entities, acquisitions, licensing arrangements, employment matters, and intellectual property matters. Lisa has worked extensively with Chinese law firms. Previously, Lisa was a partner at Mayer Brown (formerly Mayer, Brown & Platt) representing many Fortune 500 companies and major financial institutions.
Lisa holds a B.A. (class salutatorian, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from Princeton University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Liu Jianhua, Senior Advisor, Manufacturing. Jianhua is a senior executive with China Automobile Industry Investment Co., the investment arm of China's automotive industry. He is a member of the board of directors of Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Ltd., and also of the board of directors of Shangdong Weihai Auto Ltd., Co. Jianhua has 25 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with a focus in the automotive sector. His experience includes manufacturing technology, production management and manufacturing related investment projects. Jianhua holds a B.S. in Automotive Engineering from Jilin Industrial University (1975) and a CPM (Certified Project Management) Certificate.

Lloyd Song, Senior Advisor, Government Relations. Lloyd has for many years held senior executive positions with US companies operating in China, including Metromedia (MM), Asian American Telecommunications (AAT), New Harbor Enterprises, Inc., and Honson Industrial Development Co. Lloyd acted as Vice-chairman of MM China and AAT from 1996 through 2003. Prior to becoming a business executive, Lloyd served as a senior government official for 21 years, including serving as a senior officer in China's diplomatic mission to the UN in New York City, and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Lloyd also worked with two other high level government agencies, the State Planning Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation. Lloyd holds a B.A. in English and International Politics and Economics from Beijing Foreign Language Institute and an advanced degree in international trade, business law, finance and marketing from China's University of International Business & Economy. Lloyd attended the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School.

Song Zhijian, Senior Advisor, Logistics. Zhijian has been a senior executive with COSCO Container Co., Beijing Branch, since 1998. Prior to this position, Zhijian was Deputy Director of China Foreign Shipping Agent Co., COSCO from 1996-1997, and Deputy Director of COSCO's near ocean shipping department from 1988-1996. He joined COSCO in 1976. Zhijian is experienced in logistics management, with a focus on shipping and related matters, and has extensive relationships within China's shipping industry. Zhijian holds a B.A. in Japanese language from Jilin University (1975). He also holds a certificate from the executive training program in logistics from Jiaotong University (1985).

Sun Yu, Senior Advisor, Telecommunications Industry. Yu is Chief Engineer of Gold Peng Group, China's largest mobile phone hardware manufacturer. Prior to that position, he was chief engineer of the 54 Research Institute under the Ministry of Information Industry, the research and development arm of China's telecommunications industry. A well-recognized expert in China's telecommunications industry, Yu is the chief designer of the telecommunications system for the Three Gorges Dam telecommunications program and other significant telecommunications programs. Yu is a member of the China Engineering Academy and member of the 863 High Tech Program advisory board for the telecommunications industry. Yu has extensive connections within the national government and a wide range of industries.

Wu Guangming, Senior Advisor, Operations and Management. Guangming is the Chairman and CEO of YuYue Medical Equipment Company, the leading manufacturer and brand of durable medical equipment sold in the domestic Chinese and Western markets. In 2004, he was named "Entrepreneur of the Year" by the Ministry of Commerce of China. He is a standing director of the China Medical Equipment Industry Association. Guangming has actively engaged in charitable activities and was named as one of the top philanthropists in China in 2004. Guangming participated in management training programs at Nanjing University and Fudan University.

Yang Xiaodian, Senior Advisor, Quality Management and Control. Xiaodian is a Senior Engineer and Deputy Director of the China Automotive Products Quality Supervision Committee. Since 1978, she has also held the position of Deputy General Manager of the Enterprises Department of the China Automobile Industry Corporation. Xiaodian is a member of the China State Quality Supervision and Certification Commission and the State Industrial Standards Formulation Panel. With over 15 years experience in industrial production quality control and product quality control, Xiaodian was a leader in the establishment of statistical and test systems in China's automotive industry and responsible for the establishment of quality audit systems for imported vehicles. Xiaodian holds a B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering from Jilin Industrial University (1975).
