The world was amid a worldwide pandemic, and I had just replaced an executive who had been a leader at Easterseals for decades. Both of these factors led to my quick realization that a unifying and concise strategic plan was needed to keep the organization cohesive, and the way to achieve this was to have an inclusive plan that lifted the voices of all staff at Easterseals. We completed the Strategic Plan, "Seizing the Future with Intent," and then moved to business planning.
